Here is video of Ann Coulter being asked if she wants Sarah Palin to run for President. Coulter said:
"I do love her, but I think I prefer her doing what she's doing now, at which she's spectacular. She's making a lot of money and she's having a great life. She has - she's giving all this energy to the base of the Republican Party - the Conservative Movement."
Coulter was answering questions after a speech she gave at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

I agree with Ann. I love Sarah too, saw her in Boston last week But, I’d prefer for her to excite the base....she’d be great as the RNC Chair! I believe here time came and went unfortunately the wrong candidate got into our beloved White House.
Freegards
Ann is saying what many FReepers have already suggested: Sarah is a magnificent torch-bearer/flame thrower and her leadership would be better served as RNC chairman - with a longer reach and influence on all candidates for Congress & the WH. The media’s attacks would be relentless if she were to run for National office again. (we have already seen the damage they have done).
The MSM Bush bashers would stoop to new levels of debauchery.
wow. She got a whole 2 month window of opportunity, and only under direct control of the failed McCain campaign managers. That’s it? She had her chance?
That was her introduction. She has just gotten started. I am thinking the same as Ann. 2012 may not turn out to be the right time for her, if she seeks the high office. She is still very young. Depending on what her ambitions are, she has plenty of opportunity ahead to build on her reputation as governor. Whether it is RNC Chair, Senator, political movement leader, etc., I expect she will be an important force over the next 20 years.
I tend to agree with Ann here it might be like Ann running herself it would be fun but might not be successful. Can you imagine Ms. Coulter taking on Obama in debates or even Sarah for that matter. However Ann versus Obama would be priceless.
I have been saying this for more than a year. Maybe Sarah Palin is smart enough to have figured this out for herself, too. I hope so.
PALIN: Nope. Don't know who conducted that poll and I know that polls are fickle and heck, after this interview, Chris, we may see a plummeting in the poll numbers. Who knows. These are fickle. I can't comment on what the poll numbers mean today.
WALLACE: Why wouldn't you run for president?
PALIN: I would. I would if I believe that that is the right thing to do for our country and for the Palin family. Certainly, I would do so.

If you are conservative and intelligent, and listen to Sarah Palin speak for an extended period of time, you cannot help but cringe at a number of things she says. She is a great person, but lacks the presidential polish. And her Katie Couric interview performance was abysmal. Most of us could have winged it 10 times better; she had lost of prep time.
I tend to agree to Ann, too. Sarah is highly effective at energizing the conservative base, and that would be her most fitting role. Frankly, I wouldn’t blame her for taking a hard look at the whole intractable mess and saying “thanks but no thanks.”

I agree with Ann
No matter who the Republican candidate turns out to be, media attacks will be relentless. Major media is nothing more then the propaganda organ of the Democratic party. Expecting them to play nice with any Republican candidate (unless they are a Rino that can’t win a general election) is simply foolish.
So, let’s pick a candidate that the left will be happy with and not demonize. Maybe someone that agrees with the statists on taxes, immigration, global warming, judges, bailouts etc.
Oh wait a minute, we did that and got our Arse’s kicked.
I also agree with Ann on this. Sarah Palin is working where she is most needed.
Agree completely.
And remember, It’s better to be the King-maker than to be the King.
Wow, a sane thread on this subject. May be hope yet.
You’re only at post 16...things can fall apart pretty quickly, I bet. :)
So that's the only choice--Palin, or someone like the guy she ran with and now supports?
Conservatism isn't about one person.
“...shed be great as the RNC Chair...”
What a terrific idea! ;-)
Oh, let me dream for a few minutes, willya! ;)
