What if you went to school for 6 to 8 years to earn your medical degree? Suppose you had HUGE student loans to pay off as well as set up a practice and purchase the necessary equipment you need as a doctor to treat your patients properly -- and suppose you had to submit to more training practically every year of your career to stay abreast of new treatments, new equipment, and new federal and state laws pertaining to your practice of medicine.

Just suppose you did all of the above and then wake up one morning to find that you were no longer a private physician, no longer a small business owner, no longer your own boss, but a government beaurocrat taking orders on how to practice medicine, how and with which government approved treatment plan you are allowed to treat your trusting patients. What would YOU do? Huh? I THOUGHT SO! You’d quit, right?

Well, according to a recent survey, 46 percent of the Primary Care doctors practicing medicine in America today say they WILL quit when ObamaCare becomes the law of the land… and I do not blame them one bit! The New England Journal of Medicine reported in its March-April 2010 issue that 46.3% of Primary Care Physicians will likely leave the practice of medicine if ObamaCare was passed into law (SOURCE).

Administration and Congress next step: Tell you can go into business, tell you can not get out of business, tell you if you can retire, tell you if you can seek medical advise, tell you who to hire/fire, what lights bulbs you can use .... when you can go to the bathroom.

We are moving in this direction. People need to WAKE UP!

Its law and they have not quit. Just a bunch of babies whining. In Texas medical malpractice was suppose to save patients money when Dr promised to pass along the savings. Have not seen it yet.

My Father In Law is one of them. He said if this passes and holds up he will sale his practice and retire.

My God Parents son rose to the Chief of Thoracic Surgery at Boston Hospital. These are people that open up their patients like gutted fish to cure the most profound diseases known to man and they do it on a daily basis. It takes a truly unique ability to do this kind of thing. Both intellectually and spiritually. You literally have someones living heart in your hands. Now the hacks and ass clowns in Washington want to tell them how to do their jobs. Why in the world would anyone invest the time, money and commitment necessary to do this under those circumstances? The obvious answer is no one.

This is exactly true, they will say if you have federal student loans, then you have to work for the government for 10 years for low pay in order to pay them back.

I have a close friend who is a doc. He has not been paid by medical or medicare in almost a year. He has still taken every patient and turned no one away. He makes no bones about it if the obamass plan is put into place he will retire and no longer practice medicine. He has a large practice, nice buildings and steady patient load. As it stands now there is no way he can sell his business, the government won't pay and that is 70% of his patient load. Who in their right mind would buy a business in that condition???
He will just close the doors and send his workers out into an impossible job market and onto the unemployment roles.
The hardest place to find a primary care doc is in the inner city or in areas with a high population % of minorities. These docs will be the first to bail out. What will the poor of America do then??? Blame it on Bush??? This plan of socialized medicine will never work. These docs have a capitalistic debt and can not survive on a socialist income.

Is that the best you can do. I hear all the time Actors saying that they will move out of the country if so or so happens. None of them move. So if the Doctors want to quit so be it, quit NOW. Then we will have reality and facts on our side instead of fear of the unknown.

I plan on it. I don’t work for you and your big government buddies on the peanuts for medicine program. Good luck standing in line at the neighborhood clinic staffed by foreign trained quacks. I’m not your hollywood phony and I reached the point where I could quit and live well years ago. There’s your reality and facts. Hope you like your hope and change comrade.
