O'Reilly Says Liberal Media "Led by NBC News" Trying to Brand Tea Party Movement as "Racist" - Video
Fox News via Freedom's Lighthouse ^ | April 17, 2010 | Brian

Here is video of Bill O'Reilly last night where he used his "Talking Points Memo" segment to say that the "Liberal Media and Left Wing Establishment" fear the Tea Party Movement. He pointed out that the liberal media, "led by NBC News," are trying to discredit the movement by "branding it as racist."

To prove his point, he showed video of NBC's Kelly O'Donnell asking an African-American man at a Tea Party Rally if he "ever felt uncomfortable" at the rallies since there are not a lot of "African-American men" at the events.

O'Reilly is right that a full-court-press is on to discredit the movement. But it is failing to do so, because Americans can see through these pathetic attempts.

IMO, O’Reilly still doesn’t get it or he’s merely playing dumb. The Tea Party movement is here to stay and it’s growing hourly. We The People will not have our freedom stolen, will not have our Constitution destroyed, and will not allow our children and grandchildren’s future be one of serving Big Brother.

While you may not like the messenger (and I am not wild about BOR), in this case he is on target.

The media concerns me the most about the 2010 election. If you remember, immediately after the 2008 GOP convention, Sarah Palin had higher approval ratings than Obama. The media systematically worked to destroy her.

I can see the media working overtime to destroy the GOP in the 3-4 weeks preceding the election.

O’Reilly should have added that this “racist” talking point is straight out of the Democratic Party. The Democrats will do anything they can to keep the racist and extremist meme rolling.

What the left forgets, or doesn’t seem to realize, is that the vast majority of citizens are either tea party members or embrace the movements ideals. Either way they are not dealing with a fringe group that they can turn the majority of the voters against since the tea parties are the majority. They had better get ready for a huge backlash in November and if that doesn’t work other things may happen.

Detroit's black Mayor Dave Bing might not be marching at Tea Party protests, but he and the Tea Party are marching to the same tune when it comes to government budgeting.

Case in point:
On Tax Day, in an interview on WJR radio, Bing made this budget related statement: "It's not rocket science! You just gotta have the will to get it done. We can't keep spending money we don't have. So we've made the necessary cuts where we can."

Those in the Tea Party movement certainly don't agree on everything, but cleary 100% of Tea Party supporters would agree with Bing's statement. A standing "O" to Mayor Bing for his statement, and welcome to Tea Party support on this issue Mr. Mayor, because what you said is what we are all about.

I took a trip to the MO state capital with some concerned citizens. The subject of the T Parties came up. One of the guys brought up the racism issue and used the Obama with Hitler mustache as an example.

I pointed out that there were numerous such pictures and references to Bush as Hitler, and nobody thought it was racism. Furthermore, the majority of the T party did NOT have such signs.

Likewise, I pointed out that while there may be some fringe elements on the right and left exhibiting less than exemplery behavior, the majority of the T party was simply political in nature, rather than racist.

I went to the NRHA Drag Races in Las Vegas yesterday while wearing my TEA Party getup. I was amazed at the numbers of peoples who backed the TEA party....and how they know that something must be done about this government spending.

I was interviewed by ESPN, maybe I'll be on the show today.

Absolutely. And don't forget, Tea Party types are violent to the point of being terrorists, as underlined in Rachel Maddow's MSNBC special on the Oklahoma City bombing. PBS is also relentless with the racist/violent meme.

“I can see the media working overtime to destroy the GOP in the 3-4 weeks preceding the election”

The media has been working overtime to destroy the GOP ever since G.W.Bush was “selected” not elected. Remember how they pushed the “selected” issue before 9/11 took the wind out of their sails for a little while?

They actually had to back off a little because the American people weren’t about to tolerate that crap after 9/11, but it did not take long for them to get back to basics of tearing down opposition to Democrats.

I am with you.

Two things concerned me about the last election.

One was the media. Not only did they work to destroy conservatives and lift up liberals, they seemed to target conservative ideas and anyone who would support them, like Christians. It’s more than a template, it seems like a planed activism. It’s more than obvious, it is blatent. They don’t care. Even the WaPo had to apologize after the election about it.

The second is the lack of understanding in the general populace of what this country is all about. When I have to instruct intelligent people that our rights are not granted to us by the government, and that our founders vision was not the freedom FROM things but freedom TO DO things, it makes me cry.

The rise of the tea party has greatly encouraged me in this. I was beginning to think the idea of the great shining America was lost, but I see people are still out there with vision.

The media folks are being intellectually dishonest when they conflate genuinely violent types with the Tea Party movement. They’re not one and the same.

Of course they are, which was my point. We are living through something I never believed could happen in America. The institutions we looked to to protect our freedoms (Congress, courts, media, academia, etc.) have become corrupted by Marxist totalitarianism and are now freedom's worst enemies.
