The Tax List
Elective Decisions/Jess Duntno ^ | 04/15/10 | Chris Davis

If you're already on nitroglycerin and pissed off, then you probably shouldn't read the list. So, for all of you that felt like you've taken it in the shorts today, thank you for paying your taxes. For those of you that got a refund with no interest, maybe it's time to adjust that W-4.

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago and our nation was the most prosperous in the world, had no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world and only one parent had to work to support the family. A list of taxes (still in progress) paid by American citizens, and those who are Employed, Small Business Owners and Self Employed. Below the list I’ve assembled a few pictures of those individuals in government that support taking more of your hard earned money. The Tax List concept by jessduntno. Some of these are unusual, but still are a tax of some sort. This list, of course, does not include the new round of taxes that will hit with the passage of the healthcare bill.

There are over two hundred assembled on the list. So happy tax day! Here's just a few:

29. Cigarette Tax

30. Cigarette Tax Stamp (Acts) (Distributors)

31. Compressed Natural Gas Tax

32. Commercial Activity Tax (OH – for Service Providers)

33. Corporate Income Tax

34. Court Fines (Indirect Taxes)

35. County Property Tax

36. Disposable Diapers Tax (Wisconsin)

37. Disposal Fee (Any Landfill Dumping)

38. Dog License Tax

39. Duck Hunting Tax Stamp (PA, others)

40. Electronic Waste Recycling Fee (E-Waste)

41. Emergency Telephone User Surcharge

42. Environmental Fee (CA – HazMat Fees)

43. Estate Tax (Death Tax, to be reinstated)

44. Excise Taxes

45. Facility Fee (CA – HazMat Fees)

46. FDIC tax (insurance premium on bank deposits)

47. Federal Income Tax

48. Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA)

49. Fiduciary Income Tax (Estates and Trusts)

The list is longer at the end of your cell phone, internet, cable, or telephone bill. I have a bill that combines internet, cable, and telephone. For each service, the same list of fees/taxes is provided.

Once enacted they never go away

And that's because there are too many politicians that need to spend that pork so instead of reducing government it gets larger.

Thanks for forwarding, but it’s jessduntno’s work. And I posted at the site with his permission and then dressed it up a little.

I was sitting in one of my client’s offices today. It was raining cats and frogs outside. He’s an independent mortgage broker locally. We were both moaning about tax day and came to the conclusion that we paid less tax this year. Then we both got really pissed off about why that was ... hoping that we would have to pay at least a $1,000,000 in taxes next year ... with the corresponding earnings that go with it .... ;o)

Then we sipped our coffee a bit and went back to work.

I guess when you reflect on it that way. I’d like to have to pay that too. :-)
