Sorry guys, I refuse to drink the kool-aid that a Jim Jeffords clone is "the best we can get" in Illinois... especially when one of those "unelectable" conservatives has a huge lead in the Governor's race now.
Congressman Kirk, I just wanna know one thing...
This has absolutely nothing to do with scientific or medical progress. It’s just politicians like Kirk and their insane leftists allies who want total power over life itself.
Fiscal conservative my arse. If he’s calling for permanent taxpayer funding of embryo experimentation, he’s a Big Government RINO, the moral implications of forcing all taxpayers to pay for such experimentation notwithstanding.
Why has this RINO butthole survived the IL. primaries? He shows his true colors repeatedly yet the people keep voting for him. It’s madness!
puke
This may be the pick up seat that we don’t get because the candidate is so terrible he makes it impossible for any conservative to vote for him. What a disappointment. And the other guy is a crook and a thug.
I guess right now, though I am willing to be tactical here and there, that the best message is that you can’t win as a Republican if you violate the most basic principles. Green is gooney. And dumb.
The Proud, The Few, A MARINE!!
Randy Stufflebeam U.S. Senate!

I would much rather have a Marine than a green. In fact, I’d much rather have a Marine than almost anyone.
Because IL pooh-bahs moved the primaries up to February for Obama. Since the GOP establishment backed Kirk, none of the other contenders had a chance to make a name for themselves.
See my link above - Mike Labno is pro-life, pro-border security, pro-national security, and pro-limited gov't. And he's the Libertarian candidate, for crying out loud.
Are any of you posters from Illinois? I have my doubts.
1) Announced his opposition to Senator Jim Bunning’s (R-KY) stand against extension of unemployment benefits. Kirk sided with the Democrats on the $10 billion expansion to add to the budget deficit, and opposed Senator Bunning’s proposal to pay for the extension with unspent money from last years economic recovery package.

2) Backtracked on his “pledge” during the primary to work towards overturning Obamacare. He now saying he “regrets” making that promise in writing to the Club for Growth, and that Republicans “need to accept” that Obamacare is the law of the land for the foreseeable future. Kirk says his job now is to “educate” voters about the “good” parts of it.

3) Highlights the “clear differences” between himself and his Chicago Democrat Machine thug opponent by trying to run to the LEFT of Obama’s pal. Kirk issued press releases gloating about his efforts to enshrine permanent taxpayer funding for embryo experimentation and using the federal government to “clean up” Lake Michigan “polluters” and spend zillions on other local “green” initiatives. He dared his RAT opponent to do better.

Kirk has made it abundantly clear that he has nothing but contempt for conservatives and delights in giving the GOP base the middle finger, believing he can win without us. Yet many freepers continue to defend this socialist and claim he'll deliver for the GOP when we need him. I remember reading one columnist who compared the Kirk apologists to domestic abuse victims who continue to “stand by their man” after he breaks their jaw and nose for the 20th time, crying “but he still loves me on the inside!!!” when the police catch the scumbag red-handed and haul him away.
I think that columnist nailed with the love-hate relationship because the GOP and Mark Kirk. Keep on trying to beat conservatives to death Mark, and they'll just keep coming crawling back to you.
I am, and while it’s not popular on FR to say so, I’ll be voting for Mark Kirk. He’s always been a nanny state liberal on social issues, but I can live with that given his fiscal conservatism and strength on national defense. It’s an imperfect world and while I’d prefer a different candidate, there is no way in Hell that Mark Kirk would vote for the crap that has been going on in DC, and thus would have been a better representative of the Land of Lincoln.
Obama is screwing with national defense at a time when two rogue states are close to having nuclear weapons, and all they need to have is one, if they can detonate it in a way that produces an EMP blast our entire economy will collapse. That’s not fear, it’s a fact, and I’m not about to let some nanny state issue interfere with getting one more vote in the Senate that can ensure the safety of the USA.
You pick your issues. That’s mine.
Most conservatives have the political equivalent of battered wife syndrome. At the end of the day, after getting beaten, molested, and abused, they will still joyfully get down on their knees before the GOP establishment and bleat, "Please, sir, may I have another?"
The same relationship holds true for liberals and the Rat Party.
I agree. He was one of eight Republicans to vote for Cap & Tax and he has the nerve to call himself a fiscal conservative.
And this permanent funding for experimenting on human embryos is just a slap in the face to social conservatives. He’s taking our vote for granted figuring we have nowhere else to go. I don’t see how in good conscience I can vote for him.
You got that right! Randy served as a United States Marine for 22 Years!! He has served his time!!
Yeah, He is bankrupting the state with his social issues but what the heck.
Hate Crimes, illegal immigration and he will take your guns.
Know wonder our country is going to hell in a hand basket!!
what a dip...embryon research has gone nowhere...where the heck has he been the last 10 years.
John McCain with a Chicago accent.
