Al-Hayat: Russia Supplied Syria With S-300 Missiles
The London daily Al-Hayat reports, citing a Russian source, that Russian President Vladimir Medvedev is to visit Syria on May 11 to discuss promoting Syria-Russia military and other cooperation.
According to the paper, in accordance with contracts signed between the two, Russia has supplied Syria with S-300 and Iskander missile defense systems, and there are contacts between the sides for the provision of new models of MiG aircraft and air defense systems.

Russian nuclear cruiser makes port call in Syria

SNIPPET: Russias nuclear-powered missile cruiser Pyotr Veliky has arrived in Syrias Mediterranean port of Tartus ahead of Russian Navy drills in the Indian Ocean.
A large Syrian naval delegation accompanied by Russias ambassador to Syria, Sergei Kirpichenko, visited the Russian warship on Wednesday.
The Pyotr Velikys visit to the Syrian port of Tartus is a symbolic event. It is a continuation of our historic ties with Syria that serves as a guarantee of our future cooperation not only in the naval sphere but also in other areas, Kirpichenko said.
I am certain that we will witness new and significant progress in our bilateral cooperation in the near future, he added.
