I agree... but if you want something truly disgusting, try Brussel Sprouts and Okra.

I agree... but if you want something truly disgusting, try Brussel Sprouts and Okra. Interestingly enough, I love okra.
But Brussells sprouts are evil.

I can’t imagine. As a kid I’d puke on okra because of its sliminess.

Ever had fried okra? Slice it in 1/2” sections, put a cup of corn meal and about three table spoons of flour in a bowl, coat the okra nicely with that mixture and fry in hot bacon grease with plenty of salt and pepper. I’ve never tried to mix it with brussels sprouts. I like the Indian way of making okra, too - whole okra pods, onions, curry, and diced tomatoes. MMMMMMM

Okra is delicious when fried properly. Otherwise they are a slimy boogerfilled mess.
I make what I call “Popcorn Okra” and I cut it into small pieces, dredge the pieces a dry mix of 3/4 flour, 1/4 cornmeal, salt and pepper. Put in hot skillet (filled about 1/2 inch with grease) and fry till golden brown. Then drain on paper towel like usual with fried stuff.
Yummy and not slimy at all!
