Here in the Sierra Nevada foothills free range cats
are handled by coyotes. Now if we could only figure
out what to do with the free range children......

I like cats, but feral cats are no good. They decimate the local wildlife population, esp. birds. Where I live, the coyotes from up in the hills come down and eat the local cats. Hate to say it, but they gotta’ be taken out.

I have a few bare spots in my yard thanks to last years drought...and a neighborhood cat likes to use the dirt as a natural litter box. I noticed she poops in the dirt and pees in the grass. I’m going to plant some grass seed on the bare spots and hope something grows there..so she finds other places to poop...but alas, it’s good for the soil. I have a cat that sleeps inside all day but likes to be out at night to prowl and strut his baby blues. The other cats in the hood like to hang out in my yard at night, because they know it’s a cat friendly place. Most of the cats that hang out...don’t poop in my yard.

Just put out some orange oil. It also repels ants and termites.

I have 3 cats who NEVER go outside. Between the heavy traffic, wild animals, and unstable people who think it is amusing to talk about doing cruel things to animals, it's just too risky out there.

Never allow what you love to be at the mercy of uncontrollable hazards or sick people.

A small dog will run off every cat you are having problems with.

If you live in a town or city (vs. a more rural setting), call animal control. They will knock on the door and talk to the neighbor and/or cite him as violating town ordinance. Where I am, animal control will remove the cats if you catch them. We had one on our back porch during a terrible ice storm, no one knew where he came from (although my next door neighbor felt sorry for him and was giving him tuna...grrr!)I had to catch him, keep him in a pet carrier until animal control came by to get him.

PS- My husband got fed up with the neighbor’s dalmation pooping in our yard (neighbor claimed he had an invisible pet fence) and he collected all the droppings and left them on the guys front stoop. Haven’t had to clean up any since.

I would be horrified as well had a feral cat eaten my pet of 30 years.

That is a thought but not mouse or rat traps but real animal leg traps.

Try spraying this around your property.

You want the orange scent.

It works to keep George the Cat from eating my houseplants.

Awhile back, folks in Amsterdam, NY were all upset about feral cats. At great expense, the City Fathers had the cats rounded up and disposed of. About a year later, the same people were all upset again- because of the pigeons and rats!
So, either some neighbor of yours is feeding these cats, or they are finding plenty of prey around your house. Eliminate the food source, and they will either starve or move on.

We have a number of outside cats in our neighborhood. I cannot see that they do any harm. They certainly don’t bother me.

Maybe if one had dozens of them flocking around??

I’ll never understand why people get so agitated about cats. They are natural roamers and being kept inside constantly and never getting to roam? Well, it’s a dog’s life.
