Actually, that is not a true statement. I am approaching 68 and am a registered Scout. I am not as active as before but still have Scouting jobs.
I became a cub in 1950 and hold the Arrow of Light and the Eagle Rank. I am a 45 year BSA veteran and will have 50 years by 2012.
Stay registered with a unit. Stay involved at some Scouting job at the unit, district or Council level.
Alright, time for my soapbox.
Check out Venturing. Seriously. It’s an outstanding program for older boys (and girls), and it allows them to remain active as a scout until their 21st birthday. That’s why so many Lodge, Section, and National Officers of the Order of the Arrow are 18-20 year-old Venture Scouts.
