Thank you for the explanation. I was both a cub scout and a boy scout, and had never heard that term. Sounds kind of morbid.

They are also referred to as “Bridging Ceremonies”. Where a Cub “crosses over” a bridge to Boy Scouts. It’s just the manner in which people call it. They’re the same thing.
