Facebook Bullying: First Phoebe Prince, Now Constance McMillen

The suicide death of 15-year-old Phoebe Prince had nationwide resonance when it was discovered that the teenager was relentlessly bullied on and off school grounds by a group of fellow classmates for months before her death. The bullying of Phoebe Prince, an immigrant from Ireland, has taken on many different forms ranging from verbal abuse to threatening text messages to bottles thrown at her on the way from school. But, one form of abuse used against the teenager involved social networks and took the form of cyberbullying. It is alleged Prince was bullied online via Facebook and Craigslist, making it hard for the 15-year-old to escape bullying any time of the day.

Now, another "social outcast" is being targeted on Facebook. Eighteen-year-old high school senior Constance McMillen from Fulton, Mississippi, made headlines last month when she asked for a right to go to her high school prom accompanied by her lesbian partner. To avoid controversy, the school officials opted to cancel the prom completely. But, McMillen felt she was discriminated against and filed with federal court, which eventually ruled that her rights have been violated. However, the court also ruled not to make the school re-instate the prom on the grounds that an "impromptu" prom would be organized by other students and their parents.

But yesterday, it was reported that McMillen was decoyed to attend a "fake prom," that only seven other students attended. The rest of the class was partying in a "secret" location that was not made known to McMillen.

This morning, a Facebook group titled "Constance quit yer cryin" has surfaced, counting close to 1,700 fans. There is no information about who started the group. CBS reports that intial posts made were directed against Constance McMillen, including the very first post that reportedly read, "Seriously, you've pretty much eff'd up your fellow classmate's best memory of High School."

But, unlike Phoebe Prince who was left one-on-one with her Facebook bullies, hundreds of McMillen's sympathizers logged in to voice in their support for Fulton teenager and disgust with group creators. The group has now been completely overtaken by McMillen's supporters who continue to post messages of encouragement, such as "People don't choose to be gay, but people do choose to be bigots" and "Whoever made this [group] should grow up."

Some of McMillen's supporters are calling for colleges around the country to revoke admission offers and scholarships from the students who attended the "secret" prom or started the hate group. Others are posting phone numbers of the school officials that have allegedly discriminated against McMillen, asking people to call in during business hours and express concern.

In addition, one member of the forum started posting photos that allegedly came from the "real" prom that Constance was not invited to. The authenticity of the photos has not been confirmed.

“The whole thing has gotten ugly.”

Sometimes, when you push people, they push back.

My point is that McMillen brought this all onto herself. Is there any proof that the cyberbullying is being perpetrated by the students from her school who attended the alternate party instead of the 7-man prom? I agree it’s gotten ugly, but I’d bet money that the perps calling in death threats, etc.. are homo activists who are intentionally blowing this thing WAYYYYYYYYYYY out of proportion.

this is why the homosexuals are attacking the children.

They exposed the bully and won. Homosexuals can’t allow defeat so now they must intimidate.

With all the cyber bullying laws on the books now, it is time for a prosecutor to subpoena facebook for the real name and location of these cyberbullies for criminal prosecution.

Agreed. Not a single person in this considered the feelings and perceptions of the kids who did not have the same life style this girl did. That was just wrong!

Concerning this. On McMillen, she brought it on herself and everyone chose to have a private party and not invite her. Their right.

Now concerning the Facebook page, that would go too far. It would have been best left alone. Have the private party and be done with it.

Yeah, and it is funny that science has proven over and over again that there is no “gay gene”. Imagine that.

The thing is...the good guys dont break the rules. Most schools have a zero tolerance on fighting. You fight, you get suspended whether you start it or not. The schoolyard bully doesn’t care. He’s got a long rap sheet anyway. The principal probably has the bully’s parents phone number memorized.

But the good kid getting bullied doesnt want to be suspended. He doesn’t want his parents to be bothered at work. He doesnt want a black mark on his record that might show up if he ever wants to go to college. So he doesnt fight. He doesnt stand up. He just takes it.

And for 90% of bullied kids out there...this is the scenario they face.

My question would be;

Does this mean the left and leftists have begun officially Black Listing and targeting individuals, and if so, is there an unseen Government and “Friends of Government” list, and is this now standard public policy?

The whole thing has gotten ugly.

Exactly as Constance wanted it to be when she started all this.

the homosexuals did the same thing to scare people out of signing constitutional amendments.

Vote no or we will expose you.

They did some of that after the gay marriage vote in California, publishing home addresses and targeting some Mormons for harassment. And they've also shown up at the homes of some executives during other protests. I don't know about government involvement, but some on the left do not hesitate to use intimidation tactics against those who oppose their agendas.

And I believe plants who stage phony incidents to be blamed on the right are also a part of their tactics.

“Sometimes, when you push people, they push back.”

I’m afraid I have to agree. Also, when you decide to go public with a cause, it is safe to say that you will receive pushback, especially with a cause that is a hot button.

If the girl was not prepared to handle what comes with taking a stand, I would have recommended that she not engage in a very public demonstration of her views. A hard but grownup lesson.

Also, messing with a group of senior’s prom is just insane!

you should see the refuse published on the facebook page.

the page is open and you can sear it with

“Constance McMillen facebook”

you don’t have to be a member to look.

Essentially it is all homosexual attendtion whores saying anyone who does not look at them is a bigot.

They are calling it a “fake prom”

they are too stupid to realize the law was satisfied to the letter. they are upset that the children did not want to go. did not want the media attention. did not want to have their day spoiled by a freak.

why would any rational mother or father want their child stigmatized in that type of a sexual politics circus.

These are the degenerates who have taken over the universities.
