Why not an opt out on abortion grounds?
As if Obamacare wasn’t unconstitutional enough on its basic merits, creating different categories of exclusion for groups based on their religion should be its death knell (in a sane world). Challenges can’t get before the Supreme Court soon enough.
I wonder if those that are allowed to opt out will be denied medical care should they need it.
Interesting that this is one of the first time we have actually seen congress pass a “law respecting establishment of religion” and it would probably be ruled ok by the Courts but a nativity scene in a grade school lobby wouldn’t.
Hell, we are all moslems now!
Well I am a Roman Catholic and I have a conscientious objecton to abortion.
Add me to the list.
I AM SO READY FOR NOVEMBER AND BEYOND!!!!
I see many conversions on the horizon.
Hmmmm, if I don’t buy, I’m a criminal, right?
So,
Criminals,
Scientologists
Christian Scientists
Muslims
Scientology seems the easiest to fake...lol. It is whatever I think it is. L. Ron Hubbard.
The premise is unconstitutional on it’s face and there is no wiggle room.
Christians too. The bill allows members of Health Care Sharing Ministries to be exempt. There a several Christian health care sharing ministries.
But don't let that stop people from panicking and having knee jerk reactions.
“If you are a mainstream Christian or a Jew, you need not apply to Opt Out of ObamaCare; that exemption is reserved for Muslims, Scientologists, Amish, Christian Scientists and Native American Indians who have a conscientious objection to insurance. “
Does this mean I can declare I’ve found Amishness and opt out? I can pack up and move to Amish Country in a heartbeat.
I understand that these organizations, are health sharing type plans that do allow CHRISTIANS to opt out. My family will find out what is going to happen to our health care in October, at the latest. We are seriously considering the following organizations. I have had Freepers comment on the first one as being the best of the three. I have no experience with any of them.

"Amendment I: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...."?
My question is this: how many of those who will be exempt for religious reasons make up the “35 million uninsured” we keep hearing about? Prsumably none of them have had insurance up to now, since they do not believe in it. So how many will continue to be uninsured due to religious reasons?
If you opt out, does that mean you don’t pay the penalty for not getting a health insurance policy, and then if you get sick you can instantly opt in and instantly receive benefits. Crazy stuff!
This should be the basis for overturning ObamaCare...as it is the government recognizing some religions over others....the Liberals “Seperation of Church and State”
Who knew? A loophole.
