Rifqa is seventeen, why this girl has not been granted emancipation is beyond me. In Texas and several other states she is of age. She could marry and or make her own decisions. But in Ohio it's strictly 18 to become of age. One can only hope that she can make it to 18 and then have her Asylum granted. The publicity her case has drawn will make her a target for those who would murder her for honor.

You obviously did not read the posting. For her to be returned to Sri Lanka is a sure death sentence for her. Her parents are muslim, she became a Christian while here. Perhaps you would like to go as her bodyguard?

There are probably more Muslims in the US than in Sri Lanka. And since Sri Lanka is overwhelmingly Buddhist, it’s not like Muslims control the legal system there.
I’m getting really sick of all this crazy drama about one illegal alien teenager. A few months back, her crackpot cheerleading squad was screaming that it would be “certain death” for her if she was sent back to OHIO, even though it had been made quite clear that Florida would be sending her to the custody of the State of Ohio, not to her parents’ custody. Now, Sri Lanka is supposedly a “death sentence” for her.
The tab to US taxpayers for this girl’s attack of teenage drama has got to be well into 6 figures by now, maybe even seven. Send her and her parents and brother home NOW. Pin a note to her clothes that says she claims her parents want to kill her — let the Sri Lankan government sort it out.
