At about 4:00 PM PST, Fox News' Adam Housley is reporting a 6.9 earthquake striking near southern California, in Baja California, Mexico, to be exact.
Reuters is also reporting the same magnitude quake, reporting it struck at 3:40 PM PST in the same location. The quake was strong enough to be felt in downtown LA.
This is a breaking news story still developing.

About 30 miles south of Mexicali. Not much around there.
All the quake action is over here at this thread.

Nice try, but that thread’s “action” doesn’t have any information about location, magnitude or the sources for reporting. It’s just a sentence by a guy who felt it, it would seem.
My Son called he and his family left the house for a while(San Diego) my Daughter who lives a milefrom him said hard shaking, dishes ratteling lamps swinging. Scary!

Uh...hardly; try giving it a read.
Excuse my ignorance I have only experienced a small quake.
If someone was riding a motorcycle and a fairly big quake hit would they lose control?
Nice try trying to justify your new thread.
Re-read the thread you’re dogging and you will see it has the magnitude, origin, etc., just as another poster pointed out.

Again, nice try, you two. What do you get by re-directing readers at Free Republic to a thread that has absolutely ZERO INFO, other than what people are posting in the comments section! My God, do you guys get off on asserting something, only to have no substance behind said assertion? I’ll be “dogging” the other thread all day long because it has NO INFO! Its link does NOT WORK. At least this thread has location, magnitude, and two different sources for reporting.
Good God. Better luck next time with your logic, fellas.
CNN: What is causing all of these earthquakes?
A: The plates are constantly shifting.
CNN: But there must be something else going wrong if were are having so many earthquakes, two big ones today 6.9 and 4.1?
A: Well, 4.1 is not big, and as for the big ones in Hatti and Chile, there are significant earthquakes every year, it is just the natural course of the shifting of earth's crust.
CNN: Well, 6.9 is very very big, and the only reason there is no damage is probably because it was so deep, 20 miles?
A: 20 miles is relatively shallow, not deep at all.
CNN: Well, this just has to be caused by man-made global climate change, doesn’t it?
Sounds like the CNN guy was trying to hype it up and the guy he was interviewing was not going for it.
GLOBAL WARMING, BUSHES FAULT!!!!!!!!!! we kind of felt it in PHX, there were some lights and a chandelier swaying inside the house, my wife commented on it to me.
No, he just went to the same school as the Congressman who thinks Guam may capsize from the weight of too many U.S. service personnel.
