It pisses me off when someone who owns a gun and when they hand it to me, they dont clear it. Always clear and lock back the action or open the cylander , open the bolt when showing someone a rifle or pistol.
Common sense is a lot better than saying “sorryabout that”.

Sweet. You can pay your transfer fee from your left pocket to your right pocket. LOL

It's nice to save $25 on fees every time I get a gun; of course, I find I'm buying a lot more guns lately...I just can't resist semiautos from the first half of the 20th century when they're in 98%+ condition!

I'm hip to that - nothing wrong with a sturdy C&R heater, especially when it chambers ammo that's still plentiful out there (and not one of those oddball calibers that went out with the Edsel). I remember reading about the Astra models - American Rifleman magazine ran a rather lengthy article on them about a year ago. IIRC, they made a lot of variants of that pistol, and some of them were pretty ornate.

I gather you're not in the market for my Swedish model '07 in 9mm Browning Long or my French model 1873 in 11mm French, then? :-)

RULE I: ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
RULE II: NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY
RULE III: KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
RULE IV: BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET
Red in Blue PA’s add on.......Rule V: Never try to catch a dropped handgun in Condition 1. Why this isn’t one of the Primary rules is beyond me.

Astra and Star both made some fine guns. Even the Llamas were decent.
Some of the early Astras, such as the broomhandle copies and the Campo Giro and early model 400s were as finely made as any and better than most.

Take up reloading, and your husband might become more interested. It’s a highly addictive hobby with the added benefit of saving $$ if you shoot a fair amount.

When I met Otto Skorzeny's bodyguard in Madrid during the late 1960's, the handgun he was carrying was an Astra 3000, also in the usual 7,65/ .32 ACP caliber. I remarked that in his position, it seemed to me that something a bit more authoritative would be more prudent, a 9mm Parabellum, at least.
The guy shrugged, smiled, and reminded me that it was just as important to be so equipped all the time, ALWAYS!. And besides, since he was not over-impressed with the capabilities of his little .32, especially should multiple antagonists be involved, he was mindful that it might be necessary for him to fall back upon his backup weapon... which was a Star Z-45 submachinegun.
