McCains favorable rating stands at just 47/46 but its the grassroots misfortune, I guess, to be saddled with a true conservative champion whos even less popular than he is. Incidentally, this is a poll of likely voters just as Rasmussens polls are, of course. Except that when Rasmussen polled this same race two weeks ago, they found McCains lead to be just seven points. I dont get it. What could have happened between now and then to rescue McCains sagging campaign and reinflate his lead?

Sarah?
Palin campaigned for him. So that probably gave him a boost.
This bogus poll has been posted on FR several times today.
He actually said this just a few days ago:
President Reagan granted amnesty to two million people and that was wrong, McCain said.

Sarah boost.
What do you think the chances are that we'll ever hear this from McCain?: "I co-authored an amnesty bill with Ted Kennedy and that was wrong."
Anyone who would credit a poll taken by Daily Kos needs his head examined.
Followed by a BS leading question.
Well golly gosh!
I doubt it, if that were the case, Doug Hoffman would have won in a landslide, when it all comes down to it, people make up their own minds(By the way, I don’t trust this poll, isn’t this a Daily Kooks poll). If people in Arizona choose McCain, its because they wanted him, nothing to do with Sarah Palin. I doubt people who are polling for McCain are saying “Well Sarah told me to” LOL
“President Reagan granted amnesty to two million people and that was wrong, McCain said.
What do you think the chances are that we’ll ever hear this from McCain?: “I co-authored an amnesty bill with Ted Kennedy and that was wrong.””

Let me know when Hell freezes over. McCain actually states on his website that he’s against amnesty. Unfortunately, too many people believe his lies.
From the 2008 election:
http://www.cis.org/node/13
(March 31, 2008) A new poll using neutral language finds that primary and caucus voters have little knowledge of candidates immigration positions. The results also show that voters often do not share their candidates position.
Among the findings:
* Only 34 percent of McCain voters, 42 percent of Clinton voters, and 52 percent of Obama voters correctly identified their candidate as favoring eventual citizenship for illegal immigrants who meet certain requirements.
* Of McCain voters, 35 percent mistakenly thought he favored enforcement that would cause illegals to return home, another 10 percent thought he wanted mass deportations, and 21 percent didnt know his position.
* Voters often held different positions from the candidate they supported. Only 31 percent of McCain voters had the same immigration position as he does. For Clinton voters, 45 percent shared her position; 61 percent of Obama voters shared his position
* This lack of knowledge, coupled with disagreements with their candidates positions, makes it very difficult to draw any conclusions about the fact that all three remaining candidates favor legalization for illegal immigrants
* Whoever wins the presidency will face significant opposition to giving eventual citizenship to illegal immigrants. Just 25 percent of Republican and 50 percent of Democratic primary/caucus voters said they would support such an effort.
This is a leftwing poll...no way is it that one sided.
The power of Sarah Palin. Working hard to re-elect McCain who will vote for crap and tax. He was for Obamacare before he voted against it.
didn’t sarah campaign for him in the last few weeks. She made a poor decision here. Screwing herself for this cockroach.
Unless you can show a trend in the poll (which u can’t) but otherwise your wishfull thinking of a McCain win brought to us by Palin shows where your heart is...
It’s not with Alaska..
I hope Sarah isn’t successful in getting the more liberal candidate elected.

"1606 is needed because federal courts have ordered the Federal Election Commission to regulate "electioneering communications" on the Internet because of the Bipartisan Campaign Finance Reform Act (McCain-Feingold). If H.R. 1606 fails to become law, your Web site or blog could be shut down for the 30 days prior to a primary election and the 60 days prior to a general election should you express "electioneering communications."
