I have been very upset lately by some of the comments readers have left on our newspaper, specifically from an article about a Facebook initiative that encouraged Christians to pray for an atheist. The atheists have come out in droves to profess the simplemindedness of Christian faith. Most of them compared our belief to Jesus Christ as having an imaginary friend or comparing Jesus to Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny or the tooth fairy. They simply believe that since they dont have any scientific proof they can agree with that God exists, they are too far intellectually superior to believe in such nonsense, implying were not the sharpest knives in the drawer. Of course, sometimes real faith does look plain nutty to the world. We arent supposed to be of this world, conforming to what it believes is right anyway. Are we?
