Much has been written about the legislation’s onerous taxes, including items large and small. One of the biggies is a new 3.8% hit on capital gains, dividends, investment income, and rental income. One relatively small but especially annoying item that betrays the control-freak nature of the bill alongside Congress’s breathtaking economic ignorance is its 10% excise tax on indoor tanning services. One tanning salon owner predicts that 1,000 salons will close within 12 months after the tax goes into effect on July 1. Didn’t somebody say in his January State of the Union address that “jobs must be our number-one focus in 2010″?
Beyond the paramount moral issues relating to the quality and availability of medical care, anyone who believes that ObamaCare will only affect high-income earners and a few isolated industries is in for a rude shock if the legislation is not successfully repealed in time. How rude? ObamaCare’s worst financial provisions have nothing to do with taxes, but instead relate to its subsidies. When they take full effect, their impact will dramatically advance each of three goals described above: income and wealth redistribution, control, and the long-term political power of the far left....

Well, a tax on tanning beds is racist. Only whites will have to pay the tax. We need a balance. If they are going to tax tanning beds, there should be a tax of an equal amount on hair straightening products.
Be careful with bartering it’s taxable sign no paper work on deals.
Obamoids think only rich and greedy have capital gains and dividend incomes. They don’t realize that senior citizens and majority of retirement and pension plans depend on such incomes to remain financially viable. At this rate, pretty soon, these tax and spend statists will run out of things to tax and other people’s money.
Try 12.4% because it will be considered self-employed income. Currently this tax is split between the employee and employer 50/50. The SSI rate is 10.8% and the Disibility portion is 1.8%. Most landlords will simply round it up to a 15% increase.

They should have gone after the nail salons, women of all color are addicted to them...not me though, waste of money in my mind, I can file my own nails and put polish on them for mere pennies.
They realize it all too well.
They want us poor or dead, preferably dead and gone. Unfortunately, many of the children and grandchildren of these elderly will not complain until they realize that it is their inheritance that just got reduced by over 50% in order to sustain the Democratic People’s Republic of The USA. And will be be further reduced by taxation to support the same thugocracy. At some point, I expect there to be an EO outlawing inheritance as *unsustainable*.
As to killing the goose, most of us elders do not play the market in these risky times. There are no secure investments and our nest eggs are being eroded with every new entitlement that we are expected to pay while we are making nothing on our savings. We cannot sell our property because there are no buyers and if there were, the prices have dropped to the point where it makes no sense to sell out. Yet, this administration and those of many of the states are in such bad shape that the taxes on that property must come from our savings or we will lose the property. Our medical costs have been increased, our earned benefits from a life of work are being cut and we are now called terrorists who are in need of being controlled.
They are fully aware of what they are doing to us. It is heinous. To top it off, they want us to resist and rebel because then they can use us as a point of contention (greedy geezers) that both sides of the under-50 electorate can blame for their own woes. Not to mention that people can and will be humiliated, demonized, perhaps audited and perhaps even be fined for not going along quietly with our own enslavement and impoverishment.
Generational divide; remember the *generation gap*? It’s back.
They will never run out of things to tax because they basically believe that they own everything in the name of the State and they _are_ the State. They can confiscate and then use their connections to force their slave banks to issue title to their followers, just as they do in Zimbabwe. They can lease and sell state lands and resources to other countries or to other oligarchs. They will only tax until they take full, unambiguous control, then they will seize.
They do not care about anything except their own total power forever.

I’m an old country gal at heart. My mom had 5 acres with a fish pond on it. She put in a large garden, corn, peas, beans, strawberries, okra, peppers, hot and mild, greens, and rhubarb. I have to settle for a house in the city and squeeze it in where I can.
