The DNC has a new Web vid out mocking Mitt Romney’s increasingly contorted positions on the individual mandate. As you know, he backs it on the state level as rooted in conservative principles (a la Romneycare), but he’s been warning that implementing it on the Federal level (a la Obamacare) constitutes a frightening abuse of power that conservatives everywhere should resist.

Well, it looks like we will have one less RINO to deal with in 2012.

I dont think it’s crystal clear that he was endorsing a federal vs. state mandate. Obviously he likes the state mandate (Romneycare), which is problem enough for him.

The Democrats are definitely setting the stage for killer campaign commercials for the 2012 election if Romney runs..

This is part of the problem with Romney. He has a whole buffet of soundbites and quotes presented to Dems on a silver platter.

Seems pretty clear he supported them on a national level, as well:

MODERATOR: “You seem to have backed away from mandates on a national basis.”

ROMNEY: “No, no, I like mandates. The mandates work.”

Yep. Even if I trusted Romney when he claims he has converted to Conservatism (and I don't believe him at all), I would not vote for him in a primary, because his serial flip-flopping makes him absolutely unelectable.

I don't care who stops him, just so he can't be a candidate for president under the 'R' banner.

Of course, but the next words out of his mouth are buy insurance or be prepared to pay your own bills if you dont. Which contradicts the mandate statement. I have heard him a couple times lately and he sounds like he wants this left to the states. (Of course, he thinks Romneycare is a roaring success).

Who knows what his position will be next month.

HAVE EITHER McCAIN or ROMNEY REMOVED THEIR STAFFERS
WHO ATTACKED Gov. PALIN and her CHILDREN on the EVE
of ELECTION 2008, throwing the Election to Obama?

No, they have not. Not a word of it. Nothing. Zip.

Why? Because Romney and McCain directed/condoned/
/encouraged/paid/promoted/endorsed their
staffers to attack the GOP Candidate and her children.

Mitt Romney: ”Now that Romneycare is national, a little self examination
may be in order for you FReepers.
You may want to ask yourself “if I had spent my time promoting
RomneyCare and Mitt Romney , could I have garnered more support
of Obama and Mitt Romney?“

“Romney praises Obama
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney praised President Obama
at a GOP fundraising dinner Wednesday ..
"I also think it's important for us to nod to the president when he's right," Romney said....
Romney, who spoke at a dinner for the National Republican Senatorial Committee,
said he's pleased with the president's plans to "finish the job" in Iraq and Afghanistan
-- lines that drew applause from the partisan audience. He also applauded the president
for standing up to the auto industry.
"I hope he continues to be tough ....The former businessman even offered faint praise for
Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, saying that after a series of initial missteps,
"I think he's finally getting close to the right answer."
