House Ways & Means Committee minority staff estimates up to 16,500 new IRS personnel will be needed to collect, examine and audit new tax information mandated on families and small businesses.

Among the new powers the IRS would assume, the report says: The authority to confiscate tax refunds, to impose fines of over $2,200 per taxpayer, and to verify whether taxpayers' health insurance coverage is "acceptable."

Not interested in violating IRS laws. I have a CPA complete my tax records monthly. I would, however, like to divorce from banks but cannot figure out how to do it. Part of the problem is government intrusion into banks but the other and more serious problem is the mafia esque practices of banks.

Daughter and her husband have a bank account. They write checks and drive around town and pay their bills. Then they withdraw all the cash.

I’m starting to see the point. The small interest you can make is heavily outweighed by the fact that the principle could quickly disappear.
