The Fort Sumter Healthcare Vote

Whatever the final healthcare vote of today, it won’t be ‘final’ in any sense of the word. A metaphor that comes to mind is the firing on Fort Sumter—the event that is often identified as triggering the Civil War.

No, we’re not predicting or expecting, and certainly aren’t hoping for violence on the scale of the first Civil War. But as the American people have watched for over a year as their elected Representatives have transformed themselves into the worst form of arrogant, corrupt, defiant ‘ruling elite’, the frustration and anger of the American people have been building. They have expressed their outrage through every peaceful avenue known to them; they have utilized the tools and technologies of democracy to make their wishes known; they have voted in the elections available to them—in Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts—to spell out in no uncertain terms exactly where they stand on the agenda that is being pursued. Not one of the elected Representatives can claim not to know that the American people did not and do not want nationalized healthcare. Yet they are watching as the elitists lie, bribe, and hide their way into overruling the people.

The firing on Fort Sumter in 1861 made it clear that a war was on; that there was no other way to stop what had to be stopped. Similarly, the fact that the US Congress would actually proceed with a radical leftist move to nationalize healthcare in the face of overwhelming evidence of the opposition of the vast majority of the American people tells the American people—fully, finally and unequivocally—that a war is on; that this radical leftist government must be stopped. Whether or not the healthcare vote is disputed on some procedural basis for another several days or weeks really doesn’t matter. The American people now realize the stakes; they know this is not a game; they know we are not living with the politicians of some saner bygone era.

The American government is now under the control of thugs and criminals who disdain the Constitution, who believe power is law, and truth is what sophisticated PR strategies define it to be, and who believe there is no authority higher than themselves. These attitudes are morally repugnant; they are in their own way as reprehensible and indefensible as the attitudes that rationalized the institution of human slavery.

And so the healthcare vote is the 2010 equivalent of the firing on Fort Sumter. Radical leftism is proceeding with a blatant attempt to overthrow the government of the United States of America. It is going to have to be destroyed, and the American people now know it.

What will happen next is the emergence of Lincolnesque leaders and de facto generals who intuit the nature of the war and the ideals that must be fought for—and will not be afraid to say so. The American people are in no mood to hear Romney-like, genteel approaches to ‘our friends on the other side of the aisle’. We don’t want to hear high-minded discourse on sophisticated nuances of policy differences. We want to hear full-throated defense of the America of the founding, the spirit of Patrick Henry, and a resolve and determination to repeal, rescind, reverse and completely dismantle the ‘administration’ that has brought this about.

The baby boomers now find themselves with their mission to preserve America and her ideals. May they rise up as one to defeat this monstrous evil.

General Sumter (proud to claim him)

In February 1776, he was elected Lieutenant Colonel of the Second Regiment of the South Carolina Continental Line of which he was later appointed Colonel. He subsequently was appointed Brigader General of the South Carolina Militia, a post he held until the end of the War. He participated in several battles in the early months of the war, including the campaign to prevent an invasion of Georgia. Perhaps his greatest military achievement was his involvement in driving Lord Cornwallis out of the Carolinas to Virginia where Cornwallis met his fate at Yorktown in October 1781.

He acquired the nickname, “The Carolina Gamecock” during the American Revolution for his fierce fighting tactics, regardless of his size. A British General commented that Sumter “fought like a gamecock.”

Sumter and his actions served as one of the sources for the fictional character of Benjamin Martin in The Patriot, a motion picture released in 2000.

I'm already sick of hearing what a "masterful" job Pelosi and Obama have done with the Health Care Monstrocity.

What the State-run Media (aka the Main Stream Media) will not tell you is that if it was masterful, it was only masterful in its lies, deciet, and treachory. They used trickery, sculldruggery, bribery, threats, and lawlessness to pull this Health Care Vote out by the skin of their teeth...and the battle is still far from over.

The man who despises America

Stupak was not padding to a democrat victory. No the EO deal was the democrat leadership's last ditch gasp to gett the votes they needed...because the vote makes clear that they did not have them before. And Stupak and those listening to him fell for it and will be forever remembered for being duped, bribed, and sashayed into supporting a bill that will use tax payer money to pay for abortion...and ruin the best health care services in the world as they are found in this nation...and enslave our children and grandchildren in debt. I do not know what all they were promised, or threatened with...but you can bet that it had a lot more to it than a rediculous Executive Order which will not stand or be used to stop it anyway.

We have a band of traitors running this country. I know of no other way to state it or express it. That is the truth about Barrack Hussein Obama and those in league with him.They have proven by their words, their deeds, and their stances...for decades...what they are, and now they have punctuated it with this God-forsaken, monstrocity social health care bill, and intend to continue punctuating it with amnesty for illegal aliens, a world-wide socialist cap and trade effort...among many other things. They are marxist ideologs who hate the free market, who hate free enterprise, who disdain the constitution and its attending, foundational principles, who reject freedom and personal responsibility, and who promise the wrteched masses that they themselves have created through dependancy, anything they think they want, so they can amass power to themselves and destroy this Republic, its liberty and way of life, and make it over into a decrepid socialist/marxist state where they and their cronies amass tyranical power unto themselves.

This cannot stand...indeed, this MUST NOT STAND. We must press forward to the elections of 2010 and throw these enemies out with such resounding clarity that it cannot be denied either here or abroad what is occurring. We must do so by turning to the constitution and the principles that are its foundation and then electing only those candidates who swear their allegiance to that constitution and those principles.

Nothing else will do.

If, as a people, we do not turn away from the course these quislings and traitors have set us on, then, as history and God are our witness, we will ultimately be left only with same course our own forefathers were compelled to take...that is, the force of arms, in the hands of citizens and citizen soldiers of this country to route these traitors out.

We are at a monumental crossroads in our nations history. We are on a path to self destruction and the loss of our freedom and way of life. But we have the opportunity to turn off that path and return to the principles that have made America free and prospered her.

Discouragement

It was advertised that the Devil was going to put his tools up for sale.

On the day of the sale the tools were placed for public inspection,

each being marked with its sale price.

They were a treacherous lot of implements....

Hatred, Envy, Jealousy, Deceit, Lying, Pride,

and so on comprised the outfit.

Laid apart from the rest was a harmless looking tool,

well worn, and priced very high.

“What is the name of this tool?”

asked one of the purchasers, pointing to it.

“That is discouragement” tersely replied the Devil.

“Why have you priced it so high?”

“Because it is more useful to me than the others.

I can pry open and get inside a man’s heart with that,

when I cannot get near him with other tools.

Once I get inside, I can make him do what I choose.

It is badly worn because I use it on almost everyone,

since few people know it belongs to me.”
