Some look to the states as possible saviors. Please. The states long ago surrendered their sovereignty, and are now junkies on federal monies, which they need for schools, roads, Medicaid, and much else. If the citizens are now wards of the federal government, the states long since preceded them in that sorry servitude. We can all think Lincoln for that last part.

Not dead, only knocked down. Now we have to get up and fight back. Forgotten the bloody footprints in the snow at Valley Forge already?

I think it died 15 years before Chairman Obama was elected. It died when Mt. Carmel was destroyed by the FBI and when the crime was whitewashed by members of both political parties in Congress.

The civil war is overYou're right. The Civil War has long been over, and as a consequence of that War, the States have been effectively reduced to mere provinces.
Jonnyreb, get a Life!
Oh, and by the way, I was born on what was Union territory, so you can stuff the "Jonnyreb" references.

Not on our watch....get over the wounds. There’s a lot of steam generating the foward thrust. This is no time to apply the brakes or drive off course...

Yes, and I’m not sure the Supreme Court is having warm and fuzzy feelings about Mr. Obama at the moment.

Can’t help but notice that a number of newbies are posting this kind of “The republic is died” threads. Causes me wonder about their motives.
