Jalepeno Cornbread is one of my favorite things to eat, however mine is different. I first started out like that recipe but the Jalepeno tends to get buried too much in the sweetness of the cornbread. I use chopped pickled jalepenos now and for an extra treat throw in some velveeta(not any other cheese), you would be surprised at how ell the little nuggets of velveeta go with the cornbread and jalepeno’s.

“I use chopped pickled jalepenos now”
I have found that a lot of times they just aren’t hot or they’re blazing. I think it’s the soil they’re grown in.

I have used canned green chilies in this recipe, and the corn.
It’s great!

Actually you should find that pickled jalepenos have a more average steady taste than unpickled jalepenos. THe pickled helps to even out the hot ones and the cool ones. THey should of course be hotter anyways because you aren’t taking out the veins. But I digress, the reason why I use pickled jalepenos isn’t for the heat but for the stronger flavor.

Green chili’s are good. I add a little bit of garlic to green chilis when I use, them not too much though because you don’t really want to taste garlic but sometimes the green chilis can be a tad bit too subtle.

To make this stuff suitible for everybody replace the flour with half a measure of tapioca and half a measure of riceflour.
Oh, LEAVE THE SEEDS ALONE.

With a pot of drunken beans,(pinto beans made with a can of beer),that would be great.

I had Jalepeno cornbread covered with Blackeyed Peas the other day for dinner... It just doesn't get any better than that, unless you fix some turnip greens to go with it!
