Could the President face impeachment, if the Supreme Court strikes the 'Slaughter Solution'?
London Telegraph Blogs (U.K.) ^ | March 19, 2010 | Gerald Warner

The nasty car crash that is Obamacare is dragging down Barack Obama’s presidency. The cancellation of his visit to Indonesia and Australia to stay at home offering pork-barrel enticements to doubtful House Democrats is the kind of desperate expedient we expect from Third World dictators apprised of a potential coup at home. It advertised to the world the precarious nature of a presidency that has all but lost control.

In his obsession with his healthcare fantasy, Obama is prepared even to allow the subversion of the US Constitution. For what else is the so-called Slaughter Solution? Leaving aside the grim irony of this name being associated with legislation that seeks to promote an explosion of abortions in America by injecting billions of dollars into state support of that abomination – and thereby making every taxpayer complicit in abortion – the fact remains that the fundamental purpose of the Slaughter Solution is to bypass the American Constitution.

What is Joe Public supposed to make of that unambiguously malign intent? Its secondary purpose is to remove accountability from members of Congress – this from the administration of a president who was swept to power promising an end to Washington deal-making and a new era of transparency in government. Has anyone before, in the entire history of the United States, ever attempted to deny citizens knowledge of how their Congressman voted on a highly contentious topic?

It is, of course, profoundly self-defeating. When the sweating, cornered rats from Capitol Hill face the public in November, they may be able to bluster that they did not actually vote for the Senate Bill in the House. “Maybe not, pal,” will be the obvious answer, “but you sure as hell supported the subversion of the American Constitution and, in my bag, that is far worse.”

The

Not only impeachment, but imprisonment.

This guy does not understand the dynamics of US politics.

To impeach, you have to have Congress and Senate willing to impeach.

And there is NOTHING Obama can do that will cause THAT.

He won’t face impeachment until we take back both houses of congress, and even then, I don’t think they’d have the nads.

All but lost control? Obama and his fellow travelers in DC are utterly out of control.

Let it be and let it be swiftly. This scumbag is an enemy to our Republic and legal remedies need to be employed to stop him. That said, the Congress is just as much a part of the Obama criminal cabal/cult and will do nothing to hold this man accountable for anything. He could commit armed robbery and Pelosi and Reid would hold the door of the 7-11 for him.

Not with the current congress, but a new one full of pubbies and a VERY angry public supporting them might do the trick.

I agree with you. I just don’t see the GOP going there with Obama.

Yeah, I remember Lott running a “sham trial” of Clinton in the Senate. He got 100 votes to run a pretend trial.

Although he should, he won't. The simple fact is that he would be like someone holding counterfeit currency. If you didn't print the currency all they can do is take it away. The law would be overturned, and Queen Nancy and the Dutchess of Slaughter might be in a bit of trouble. But Obama can just play stupid. After watching the FOX interview the other day it appears that he is quite good at that.

Like all the good students of the Daley/Alinski machine here in Chicago he has learned to let the loud mouth radicals do all the dirty work. That way when the indictments come they can be disposed of (bought off or sent for a swim in the Chicago River) and the leader has clean hands. I wonder if Pelosi packed her water wings.

What I think people are not understanding (because the press is not pointing it out) is that the “Slaughter” solution is simply the nickname given to what is called “deeming” which has been practiced since 1933 when there was a need to expand our ability to go into debt, which everyone knew needed to be done, but no one wanted to be seen voting for. Since 1933, this practice has gone on — admittedly on far smaller items than the Health Care Bill - with the full knowledge and consent of every part of our elected and appointed government. Congress allowed bills to pass that hadn’t been voted for, presidents signed those bills into law, and the Supreme Court never addressed the constitutionality (or lack thereof). Are we prepared to declare over 75 years of government impeached for their illegal actions? I’m in favor of it. Go back to every single one of those bills that were unconstitutionally passed and get rid of them. Even though it’s moot on most of them, perhaps a re-dedication to our Constitution is the only way to go. Getting rid of all current elected officials who have agreed to “deem” something passed. This isn’t a new problem, by any means. It’s also not one party or the other. Our entire government is corrupt.

When Obama signs this HC bill into law.. If the GOP doesn’t have the ball bearings to Impeach him.. they will be done as a political party.. there will be a third party.. and people will vote for that third party like never before.
