Hey Bobbo exactly how is Reagan’s California these days? Palio’s Alaska is STILL doing great!

Regan was a great speaker and thinker, too. And he stared the USSR down. Freed the Eastern Bloc. All things that made him a great President.

But not the top. I rank Grover Cleveland higher than Reagan, in living by, speaking of and acting on Conservative Core Values.

And yes Reagan should’ve hit back at IRAQ and SYRIA for Beirut and maybe even for Lockerbie, and also for the whole hosatge thing. Why didn’t he?

Palin grew up living in wolves territory — she’d know what to do.

I believe the people of Alaska pay Fed Income Taxes and like every other State in this UNION deserve to get some of that back.
Looks like you have gone on a rampage Bob... first attack Palin..fair because she is a politician... but now attack the people of Alaska! Get a grip.

They’re more willfully blind than even the worst of the Giuliani-bots and Romney-bots.

I live in an unorganized borough, no prop taxes; also no services; you get what you pay for.

98% of the land mass is not in public ownership; parks, bio-zones, native lands, military bases, on and on. Imagine if the fed's took 98% of the land in your state; how would that affect your economy?

When you have a huge state with lots of fed employees trying to run the show and their holdings, low population 650,000 people, you end up with a high per capita payout.

First you need to educate yourself quite a bit more than you already think you seem to know about Alaska. Second, you need to look at Palin's record of state accomplishments, her high rating with her constituents, and then get to know the real person rather than who you think she is. I first met Palin in early 90s, watched her go against the corrupt local politics & win, watched her fight the corruption in her own party & win, then watched her become one of the best Governors I've seen up here. She fought them all from the Repubs to Big Oil, but more than anything political corruption that prevents good government from occurring.

The PFD goes up and down, might be 200 bucks in 2 years not 3000. In our state compact, resource wealth is owned by the residents, not by the politicians. It is actually a good thing that the residents get a small part of the interest generated by the rainy day fund; they watch the politicals real close. I'm sure in your state, you all prefer letting the crooks in government steal it all though. I think we have a better plan.

When we lived in the matsu, I talked to Palin every month, we now live out in the sticks and I even had the chance to talk to her last spring. We had a flood, washed half the town away at ice out. Palin flew in, walked all over the community by herself, no film crew or news people, just her style. She then jumped on a 4 wheeler and rode out a mud bog trail 7-8 miles by herself to visit the Indians who had lost everything they ever owned. That's how for real Sarah Palin is. I'd vote for Palin if she was a dang democrat; that's how honorable she is, one of a kind and I wish she was still our governor.

I still can’t figure you out. You are definately not a team player. Eating our own is not productive. Reguardless of what you think, Sarah Palin does have an important place in the US. Will she be President ? Time will tell. but she is an important person and instead of trashing her, lets work along with her to get this country back to what it should be.

>So when the libs jam her with POTUS complaints, bogus accusations and impeachment threats, will she quit again?

Please bear in mind that, at least at the time, she had to pay for her own legal defense against each of those alleged ethics violatons. She was *half a million* dollars in debt, and those lawsuits showed no sigh of stopping. At the time, she and Todd combined made only about $200,000 yearly. In fact, if I’m not mistaken, they had to take out a second mortgage on their house. They probably feared that their family was going to be driven into bankruptcy. I’m sure that the Presidency probably has safeguards against stuff like that (I hope).

Why would she lose by 8% ? How is she any different than Romney or Huckabee as far as electability ?

What is your deal bud. Do you hate Christians ? Do you hate women ? Are you Pro Abortion ? I am trying to figure out what column to put you in.

You just don't get it do you? I'm definitely not pro-abortion. I certainly don't hate Christians, especially the ones at church. I don't hate women, as my late mother, my wife, two daughters and two granddaughters are all of the female persuasion. But, I don't care much for Sarah Palin. So, looks like you need to go back to the drawing board.

While conceding that it is speculative to compare people belonging to eras that are decades apart, let me quote a tennis analogy.

Laver ruled in the 60’s, Borg in the seventies, Mccenroe and Becker in the two halves of the 80s, Sampras in the 90s, and now we have Federer.

Every succeeding generation has gained exponentially over the previous in terms of quality of exposure and equipment.

You have see the comparison between Palin and Reagan, in this light.

Reagan followers have the advantage of hindsight. Been there, done that. But did he have the early exposure of Palin? Was the MSM technologically equipped to cause misery of the current magnitude?

I see that you came back on the thread but couldn't answer the simple question posed earlier based on your repeated statement that Palin is the most qualified to be POTUS...

"Based on what exactly? What about her CV gives you the idea that 70,000,000 Americans will decide that she has the expertise, knowledge and experience to pull the world's largest economy back from the brink and fight two wars and deal with the Mid-East and deal with the Asian Dragon and deal with a resurgent, aggressive Russia and deal with a collapsing European Union and....."

See, the thing you should be thinking about is this...If you can't provide a convincing argument on Palin's qualifications to accomplish all the above and more and at the same time here on a conservative site then how in God's name do you expect tens of millions of moderate/middle/independent voters to be persuaded?

That, my young friend, is the Palin problem....when the emotion is stripped away there's just not very much in the way of genuine POTUS class experience or expertise.

Sarah Palin has, learned from experiences that perplexes and frustrates her opponents. Experiences such as hunting, fishing, gardening, playing team sports, being a student that graduated from college, bachelor’s degree in journalism, television sports reporter, wife, mother, mayor, chaired the Alaska’s Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, Governor, and first Republican woman Vice Presidential candidate.

Perhaps the number one experience, that no one today can match is the hate filled and vile rants of the left, media, and plain dumb people. And she has done it with grace, but not backing down. You can tell whom your enemies fear most by who that hate the most. Bush, Reagan, and now Palin!

She did all these things and her critics say, “she not smart enough.” So, all the people who hired her, voted for her, worked with her, did it because she wasn't’t smart enough! Her experiences of just being a woman and doing what she has done, makes her smart enough!

Some people think she is not smart enough ... they think that no woman is smart enough. Neither Obama nor Hillary Clinton can match her experiences.

No one in politics today can match her in the most important qualities that Jefferson said George Washington had. "
He administered the government with fairness and integrity, assuring Americans that the President could exercise extensive executive authority without corruption. Further, he executed the laws with restraint, establishing precedents for broad-ranging presidential authority. His integrity was most pure”, Thomas Jefferson wrote, “his justice the most inflexible I have ever known, no motive of interest or consanguinity, friendship, or hatred, being able to bias his decision”.

And yes I think Sarah Palin has these same qualities that Jefferson said Washington had!

She does not have a resume that convinces many people that she can handle the biggest job in the world. Emotional comparisons to george Washington are plain silly.

What America needs to see is genuine, long-term accomplishments that support assertions that she can fix the economy, save medicare, save social security, deal with the unions, confront an aggressive china, face down an increasingly expansive Russia, walk the tightrope in the MidEast, manage relations with a US-hating UN, fight a war in Afghanistan, finish a war in Iraq, fight AQ and its global allies, deal with all border and immigration issues, assure and support a flailing European Union, assure and support our crucial Asian allies, preserve relations with the crucial FSSRs....the list goes on.

There is almost nothing in Palin's resume that gives us confidence in her ability to do all of the above, especially given the certainty of a strong oppositional media...the same media that drove her from the one real job she had.

When running for national office, border state politicians (southern or northern) always cite their state's geography as evidence of their experience in international relationships. The fact of the matter is, Alaska is our only state that borders two separate nations. By politician logic, that means Gov. Palin has twice the experience :-)
