"Glenn Beck loves freedom. He loves freedom of speech, freedom of travel, and he fights anyone who tries to take away those freedoms. "

God bless Beck!!!

I’m pretty much fed up with Glenn Beck. It appears that he is only out to help himself, aka, the 9-12 Project which it appears he started because he could not control the Teaparty movement, in my opinion. Hannity is much the same, in my opinion. And BOR is the worst of all - nothing but an Obama door mat. Rush and Mark are the only two I count on.

His main connection to O’Reilly is his constant shilling for a buck.

Fascists are considered right wing only because their ideological cousins, the communists, called them that to separate themselves from the fascists in their recruiting. The only real difference between them is one preaches globally, the other locally.

Jonah Goldberg did an excellent job of pointing that out in his book "Liberal Fascism" with a story about a British reporter going to Germany. In the years before the rise of the Nazis, the students he visited has commie propaganda all over the place. When the Nazis were coming in to power, but not in complete control, the Brit visited again and there was Nazi propaganda all over. Both are of the left.

Beck is all about freedom, then why criticize Geert Wilders, who is speaking out for it in Europe despite jail, threats on his life? As for DeVillipin a “rightwing extremist”—?? A French official who protested the WOT and stood for his government against Bush? He must have changed. Beck goes off half-cocked and shoots himself in the foot. Or elsewhere.

Also, you have far right Dutch MP Geert Wilders. Last year he was banned from the UK. They said his presence could threaten community harmony and therefore public safety. Last week not only was he allowed into England, he was at the house of lords, where he screened a film on the quran.”

I have been a fan of Beck, but he doesn't know what the heck he is talking about on Geert Wilders. He may need to actually go spend some time in Europe(like I have), and get a clue.
What Beck is doing here, is kinda like some guy sitting in Europe, and calling the Tea Party a "racist far right group", without knowing what the Tea Parties are really about. How would Beck like it if some European did that?

For all of Beck’s time spent at a blackboard — or whiteboard — and all the time he says he spends reading history, he sure gets some of the basics (some of the easy stuff) radically and ridiculously wrong.

Last week Beck, relating New Deal history, said "FDR was wildly popular, just as Barack Obama is today".

Hey Glenn...FDR's popularity (and out of control spending) his first two years won Democrats 9 Senate seats and lost Republicans 14 House seats in the 1934 midterms.

How many seats ya think Barack's popularity will win Democrats this year?

Lots of what Beck says is great. Seen information I thought would never be on TV. But now and then...he's nuts.

I’m sick of Beck constantly saying that, “It’s not just the left. The left and the right both stink on ice.” He always has to put out a disclaimer. Same as O’Reilly. Oddly enough, the left hates them both, and many of the right dislike them for that stance. McCain is no day at the beach, but I’m sure we wouldn’t have socialized medicine had he won the election.

Beck did not call Wilders a fascist. He had him on his show and treated him well. And what is with the wondering about Glenn’s feelings re: Israel? He has had Bibi Netanyahu on THREE TIMES (HLN and Fox) and praised him to the moon! This author is a moron.

I saw the program where he expanded on why he says the left in Europe is communism and the right is fascism.

His point is a warning about the danger of the size, scope and control of their governments. It is precisely why our founders chose a limited government with a balance of power and feared massive, all powerful governments like the Euros have and ours is turning into.

Limited government means when a far left or right candidate wins office, such an individual doesn't have the power to become a dictator. But, when you combine massive government power with a national crisis and a charismatic far left or far right individual who promises to solve all the nation's problems, those are perfect opportunities such an individual can become communist or fascist Savior/dictator respectively.

That's the history lesson and history's warning and is precisely why our founding fathers were so wonderfully wise creating our limited government with all the checks and balances. We should listen to them now. Beck's trying to warn us that the conditions are right for history to repeat itself...again.

Instead of getting caught up in the "our side is better than their side and whose side is Beck on?" BS, we should take that warning to heart and dismantle what's been built on top of our Republic, Both sides are dangerous with too much power!

Beck’s a hypocrite. At the same time he’s whining and moaning about socialists using Saul Alinsky tactics against him, he’s using the same approach against anyone who demands BO/BS obey the the Constitution by proving he is a natural born citizen.

I like Beck, but he must have meant Jean Le Pen the far-right figure and not Villepin who was Chirac’s prime minister. Sloppy research on Beck’s part.

Beck has some big blind spots in his views of things but who else is exposing and educating the public about Progressivism and Marxism as much as he is? Who else is exposing the threats to the economy as in depth as he is? Who else gives a platform to more people with more expertise in diverse fields of politics, business and just plain old American citizens than he does? And lets them actually speak.

Anyone that is still looking for the perfect spokesperson for all of their views is looking on the wrong plane of existence.
