To assist in the effort to deliver justice for Army Ranger 1st Lt. Michael Behenna, the Edmond, Okla., native who is serving a 15-year sentence at Fort Leavenworth after being convicted of unpremeditated murder in the May 16, 2008, shooting death of a known Al-Qaeda operative in Iraq, I designed the Unofficial Defend Michael Brochure shown.

Since this is your new field of expertise Jim, what say you? What about involuntary manslaughter?

Look, I”m 4th generation combat jarhead..... And I say that with some serious freakin pride. I loved being a warrior and have respect for those who still do it. I never said the sentence awarded was a good judgment. Personally because of the complexities of the case I think he should be out 1.5 years. He”s learned his lesson and it was a poor call of his command considering the situation. But I can NOT condone and advocate poor decisions made by an officer.
I do hope he gets out soon as I hope the two border patrol agents do as well.

LOL! Well, you've come a long way from 'taking an Iraqi to a ditch to have him executed.'

Actually, I dont believe my position has changed at all, I just gave my opinion on two seperate subjects. Crime n punishment. I understand both as two seperate issues as I would hope my peers would as well. I actually never said ‘taking an Iraqi to a ditch to have him executed.’. What I said is that he took him too a ditch, which was true. I also said something to the effect of “Saddam style execution”. And if you dont know thats what that Iraqi was thinkin, all conversation is pointless.

Officers have the DUTY to keep there commands ready at all times. These are lives in which they are responsible for. I dont know how many of you threw rounds down range, but for those who never have.... Officers need to hold themselves to a higher standard for the men in which they command.

I know what you posted, you implied that Behenna took him to a ditch and executed him, that’s the only reason why you got this response from the initiator of this thread,

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/2469081/posts?page=6#6

along with me and some others, now you’re saying oh well that’s what the Iraqi was thinking, well you don’t know what the Iraqi was thinking.

Oh really? What? Do you think that an interrogation is a sit down for tea event? What really would you do/think if someone took you to a dark secluded area by gun point? That it was your lucky day perhaps? Please. You have no idea the rage or insanity in which warriors contain or how important officers setting the right examples are in that. Well you know what..... I do. He is guilty of a crime, if he would have never broke orders he wouldnt be where he is.

He's guilty but of what crime? That's why the Defend Michael Behenna website was set up so people could see for themselves what the deal is, if he were guilty of calculated cold blooded execution style murder, there would be no such website and Michael Savage would not be taking up a campaign on his show to help him.

When people like you go on websites and imply he took some Iraqi to a ditch and executed him, you are doing nothing but hurting his cause and his case, he needs our support not spurious charges that haven't been proved in court.

Despite how you feel about following orders, if you feel he should only do 1 1/2 years then you should be supporting his case for appeal of his sentence.

No, what I’ve implied is that he took the situation in his own hands, disregarding his superiors and intimidated someone to where it caused that persons death. Again, why he was found guilty of unpremeditated homicide. This was done by an OFFICER!!! What is there not to get? As far as Savage, the company I used to work for had him as a spokes person and I got to meet him. I could think of other people I’d want to talk on my behalf but I guess he’s better than nothing for Behenna.

Well yeah, maybe Behenna could've gotten any number of regional talk show hosts with audiences of say maybe several thousand on a good night rather than a heavyweight top tier host who commands audiences in the millions.

Behenna couldn't do any better than Savage since he has been the ONLY top tier talk show host that has repeatedly come to the aid of our military soldiers who are being victimized by political correctness.

Haven't studied it yet and military law I think is different than civilian law.

If I understand what Fyscat is saying, Behenna's in trouble because as an officer, he's held to a higher standard of conduct for the practical reason that more lives are at stake under his command, and that is the reason he's in trouble, not because of the dead Iraqi. I haven't seen a shift in his argument, and I believe he really does feel for this guy as we do. Hey, we're humans and fallibale. Sometimes we screw up and have to pay for it. Not sure I'm seeing an injustice here. Our prayers should be for God's grace and mercy and presence to be with Behenna and his family.

Military law is very different. In most cases its “preponderance of the evidence”.

I do feel for him and thats why I have signed the petition although I dont believe a new trial will come to a different verdict. Bottom line, his actions were not guided by order but of his own initiative. I think Savages $ and the support that he has would be better served by achieving early release for him but if the only chance for that is a new trial, I guess I'll endorse that....

Not sure I'm seeing an injustice here.

You mean you actually agree that Behenna rightfully has been charged with murder? Well then why not give him life in prison? Why not give him the death penalty? Can't have our soldiers running around killing Iraqi terrorists now can we? I sure wouldn't want you guys sitting on any jury for me. Well all I can say is Thank God for Savage!

Ok... we’ll see how he does for him...

The Behennas' have gone broke trying to get their warrior son out of prison. Savage has donated $75,000 so far and has encouraged his millions of listeners to donate also and keeps reminding them of this case.

If there is a percentage of Savage's audience that feels like you and Jim that this evil man Behenna belongs in jail for murdering this innocent Iraqi in cold blood, then unfortunately there won't be as much support for him as there might be, which would be a shame. As far as I'm concerned the only good Iraqi terrorist is a dead one. Behenna deserves a medal.
