Mr. Kennedy was disappointed that his little solo crescendo in the House did not get enough attention from the media.
Mr. Kennedy, cynical is the cowardly attempt of you and your few leftist friends to amuse their fringe base with sabotage of the American efforts to bring the War in Afghanistan to an end. While you were popping prescription drugs and driving around the Capitol drunk the journalists from all around the world were crisscrossing Afghanistan with the troops.While you were chewing Ambien in the rehab the war-reporters were sleeping under the sky with the troops. While you were sitting in your psycho therapy couch solders were taking pictures on the field and blogging to tell their story........
The American man and women today voluntary pledge their lives to their country. They deserve their government to make everything possible in effort to bring support for their mission. Not stab them in the back! They deserve to end the War with dignity and honor and respect!
Mr. Kennedy , you and your friends who brought the cowardly resolution to Congress knew that it does not have support to be passed. And you and the other 65 sissies who voted for it decided to go with the political show anyway despite the best interest of the nation. You brought an assault on the public support of the Surge in Afghanistan to indulge your own political agenda.

He was drunk in 2006 when he crashed his car in the barriers of the Capitol Hill, he has been in and out of rehabs for prescription drug addiction. I have no idea if he was under influence yesterday.

I’m late to your thread, but I wanted to add a comment anyway. It’s interesting that Kennedy’s (semi-deranged) wrath is directed toward the MSM. I happened to observe the exact same reaction on DU two days ago. One of the more prominent DUers posted an F word laden anti MSM rant, and garnered more replies than I had time to read. Every single one of them was abjectly supportive. Left wing rage against the media appears to be burning out of control. Objectively it makes little sense, the MSM being so far to the left as to make Pravda look fair and balanced. Apparently far left American liberals don’t see it that way. I find this amazing and intriguing. Maybe a much larger scale leftist meltdown in in the works.

Great observations! The whole resolution and ranting was to appease the far-left - without taking to account the national interest. Some think they are trying to make Obama look moderate. I believe those people are just out of touch with the reality. They live in some la-la land where it is OK to stab the nation because of your crazy ideas.
This alcoholic doper wants attention? Here's a suggestion...buy a gallon of gasoline; wrap yourself in a green muslim flag; pour gasoline over your head; strike a match. You'll get media attention...guarenteed...for 30 seconds. Do everybody a favor.
You’re right, except that they don’t see it as backstabbing. They see it as ‘righting past wrongs’ or speaking truth to power or some other mush rot they garnered from snotty sixties radicals-turned public school teachers and pampered professors. What I find intriguing is that, in the absence of Bush to give focus and outlet to their hate and frustration, they are turning on allies. By any measure the MSM is a leftist dream come true. Yet here you have Kennedy and a large swath of DU rabidly attacking the MSM. That doesn’t bode well for the Left, as I see it. And that’s not just wishful thinking. :)

It is a shame that Kennedy, Kucinich and their coo-coo friends tried to steer the public opinion against the surge in Afghanistan. This will haunt them forever!
It struck me as an attempt to channel his old man, the so-called “lion of the senate.” He came off more, though, as a chihuahua, in tone and in tenor.
Patches needs to tighten his Kennedy neck brace down a couple of notches after his drunken drug induced ranting.
