I received many emails regarding my column on the McCain v. Hayworth Senatorial race. One reply to which I devoted great solicitude was by a gentleman who wrote under the name Reformer. I found his pseudonym ironic because he is a John McCain supporter and we have seen more reform from McCain over the past decade than we can possibly afford.
His comment prompted me to write another column because despite its banality, it is an expression that the McCain enablers will try to cultivate into a full-blown mantra if not quelled in its infancy.
Reformer wrote The Senate needs the level of wisdom McCain carries, regardless of age. Age is often the forerunner of wisdom.
As the Old and New Testament indicate, I believe that wisdom is granted by - God. Age can certainly be a forerunner of experience but wisdom is certainly not a concomitant of age. As Clapton sang its in the way that you use it. If you HAVE wisdom, you can use the extra experience to your advantage; if not, youre just an old fool.
McCain & Wisdom? As I wrote in my reply to Reformer, those two words are certainly not synonymous. I don't think McCain has ever exuded wisdom in his entire senatorial career. I can enumerate many examples starting with the Keating 5.
I remember being appalled by the delusions of John McCain before most Americans ever even heard of him. I was vexed by him calling himself a Republican back when I was in college, as I read about how he was working with the leftist of Democrats, trying to put price controls on cable television service! This is a prime example of how you KNOW beyond a doubt that you are either dealing with either an unabated nitwit -or- a socialist: Politicians who attempt to promulgate such nonsense appeal to the lesser angels of our nature by offering us what is guaranteed to be POPULAR, rather than ethical.
You see, I did not like paying $45 a month (at the time) for cable TV, so if I were -ignorant- I would like todays indoctrinated blockheads - get on board with that concept without giving any consideration to the ramifications. He gave no consideration to the fact that the cable companies were at that time (and for years) BLEEDING RED INK and could have gone bankrupt without price increases. As they were to spend hundreds of billions upgrading their lines from copper to fiber optics and digital compression, McCain and his left-wing Democrat buddies were doing everything they could to stifle innovation through their senseless vote buying schemes.
Never mind that the snake oil he was trying to sell us on was the entitlement minded concept that cable television was a -right- something essential for human sustenance, therefore should be "price controlled".
So if we capitulate to the impetuous whims of politicians like McCain, where does it STOP? Next, the price of a steak dinner at Ruth's Chris should be regulated or a Starbucks coffee... Actually, I don't have to make up examples because we are now LIVING through the consequences of the McCain years. The people he spent a career appeasing and even encouraging are now in the majority.
There is nothing conservative about this man. Excuse me for being crass but politicians like McCain have for too many years been defecating in the drinking well of liberty. It is convenient for them - but it is very short sighted and as experience is teaching us, it has deadly ramifications, deadly to our economic system and perhaps to our Constitution.
This is not my normal tone. The outrage of Americans who want our country back is fermenting. It is time for you to go Mr. McCain.

Were this addressed to anyone but a “McCainiac”, it would leave a mark. These people are as blockheaded a mob as those that blindly follow that other moron, Ron Paul.
Am reading Rove’s book and everything we always thought about McCain is true, and WORSE.
The man is a backstabbing liar.
“Am reading Roves book and everything we always thought about McCain is true, and WORSE.

That would be on his better days.......
And there they are.......Hagel, Linseed, and all the other dirtbags. Warren Rudman bashing evangelicals..........oh there are few surprises so far.
There is nothing honorable about McCain.....NOTHING
Absolutely!
If you have read any of my posts, you'll know that I'm not a mcpain fan, but the man did 5.5 years in a commie prison camp.
He may have forgotten his honor, but give him his due.
You know, I’m sick and tired of having to listen to folks preface their comments regarding McLame’s Senate record with his military service!
Enough already! Sorry, but I’m not going to give this creep a pass on his back-stabbing behavior because he served! This is complete B.S.! His military service has nada to do with his current lack of character as a Senator!
And then he aligned himself with John Kerry when he got to D.C.
When I heard those tapes that so harmed our POWs in Viet Nam it made me sick. How could McCain befriend such a traitor to our troops?
McCain wanted to be Kerry’s veep. What about those Swift Boat Vets for Truth? They are the real heroes.
Yes he survived his imprisonment but the rest of his life has been a disgrace.
All in all they're a pretty dispicable bunch.
Amen Artcore. One has nothing to do with the other. Geberal Arnold also was a war hero before he became a traitor.
I meant GENERAL Arnold, not “GeBeral”.
