That’s about the going rate. Esp. in stainless.
I wouldn’t call it a “good deal,” but it is a fair price. What is its intended use?

I would recommend Hornady LEVERevolution ammo for your rifle. It's made specifically for that type. It has good performance specs, as well.
Are you looking specifically for a lever action .357 mag rifle?
Reason I ask is that as a rifle it's sort of underpowered and that ammo is hard to find and expensive unless you roll your own.
its a model 92 winchester clone.....anything that can be used for cowboy action shooting is usually more expensive than those of similar quality that cant be used for CAS.
that is not a bad price for that weapon. right now original model 92 winchesters are through the roof....good clones are pretty high too...
Not as good as my Browning BL92 Lever-action (44 Mag) though
Rossi makes a good weapon. I’ve had a .38Spl for almost 20yrs, put 1000’s of rounds through it. Very accurate and reliable. That rifle sounds like fun.
Look for a lever action 308 instead.
that’s probably full retail. stainless adds to the value. as mentioned, this is a rifle in demand by Cowboy Action Shooters (I am one). They are a blast to shoot. It’s always nice to have one caliber for both rifle and pistol.
Anyway, Rossi 92’s have a good reputation in CAS. If you get it, there are some things that you can do to “slick it up.”

Cons: the loading port is very small and not beveled, hence you may find yourself using your little finger to poke that last cartridge in all the way. The point of impact is markedly different between .357 and .38 spl ammunition, which it also shoots. The latter has the recoil of a .22. There is a known problem if you let the barrel ring get too loose - it'll end up downrange. Have to check that now and then.
Pros: the 20-in barrel pumps the muzzle energy of the .357 magnum up toward .44 magnum pistol-barrel levels. Can't say if mine is an exception but inside 50 meters it's a tack-driver. Smooth action, and it has that natural point that the Winchester 94 exhibits. Conventional rear blade (i.e. not one of those dang buckhorns) adjustable for elevation only. Nice crisp trigger breaks at a little over five pounds, not much creep.
Sweet little piece in summation. You could load it hot for deer but I'm thinking it might be a little light outside about 50 meters. Great coyote gun.
Any rifle that shoots it will have pistol performance.
