My son is doing an internship and does not yet drive. To get from our house to his job, he has to take a light rail and three other buses. It takes two hours on these gas hogs that carry few passengers. My fuel efficient car takes 20 minutes to drive him to his job.

Half the people I work with would no longer be able to afford to drive to work. Public transportation is practically nonexistent here. The local economy will collapse.

If were stupid enough to destroy ourselves over some egghead theory we deserve our fate.

I would rather make my own still, make my own ethanol, pay no taxes.

If I have to I will build a steam engine...burning wood or alcohol. In crude installations it won;t go fast until I can get better equiment and the right type of vehicle.

There is still a horse option.

Bring back the moonshiners.

It’s not just driving that would be prohibitively expensive. Food prices would go through the roof...not too many farmers use horse drawn plows anymore. Add in the cost of the semis bringing it to the grocery store and we really would have a hunger crisis. Maybe that’s part of Michelle’s campaign against obesity.

...But wait.... Americans may be actually beginning to show some signs of...

...Awakening...

Yale Poll:  "...the number of Americans who believed that climate change was a hoax or scientific conspiracy had more than doubled since 2008..."

Pew Poll:  "Dealing with global warming ranks at the bottom of the public’s list of priorities; just 28% consider this a top priority, the lowest measure for any issue tested in the survey."

Pew Poll: global warming dead last, down from last year

25 Jan 2010

It seems that the public just doesn’t share the worry some of the activists have.

From the Pew Research Center

Global Warming and the Environment

Dealing with global warming ranks at the bottom of the public’s list of priorities; just 28% consider this a top priority, the lowest measure for any issue tested in the survey.

Since 2007, when the item was first included on the priorities list, dealing with global warming has consistently ranked at or near the bottom. Even so, the percentage that now says addressing global warming should be a top priority has fallen 10 points from 2007, when 38% considered it a top priority.
