I find myself baffled why some conservatives seem to hate Paul. I don't agree with everything he says nor would I agree with Limbaugh 100%. At this point I'm more flexible than before. I'd support almost any GOP nominee as long as he or she is not a statist like Obama.

“I find myself baffled why some conservatives seem to hate Paul.”

It’s easy. When you deal with Paulistinains on a regular basis, and all of their caustic remarks because you dare believe the nation is worth defending and that illegal drugs ought to stay that way, you learn to despise that which they idolize. I actually agree with Ron Paul more than I disagree with him however the things on which we disagree will get a lot of Americans killed.

Ron Paul isn’t battling for “the soul of America”.

He might be battling Frank Rich for the “soul of that small percentage of Ron Paul supporters who believe in the mission of Code Pink”, but he isn’t battling for the “soul of America”.

He isn’t that important or influential.

I don't think anyone here on FR totally disagrees with Ron Paul on everything, but quite frankly the guy presents himself as an annoying gnat. The Ernest T. Bass of conservative politics.

When Paul in a GOP debate says America is at fault for the 9/11 attack, I forget real easy that this guy has a good position on what to do with the IRS.
Also, He and most of his supporters are also what I call “Scorched Earth Libertarians”. They would rather see Omaba get a second term than to vote for anyone in the GOP not quite as far right as Ron Paul. Even Sarah Palin is too far to the center for them. That is where the biggest problem we have with Paul is.

How can anybody trust libertarians when their favorite
“son” loads up legislation that he knows will pass and
gives the pork while giggling “I voted against it.”?

Well, since you asked ........

IMHO, a conservative in America needs to have all three of the Ronald Reagan “legs of the stool” to win elections. Ron Paul and Libertarians have FATAL policy flaws in each of these.

National Security/Defense Conservative – Ron Paul has said (paraphrase), 'the real fault for this terror attack lies with the United States for provoking al Qaeda by "occupying their land"'. Nuff said.

Social/Morally Conservative – Libertarians don’t want any restrictions on behavior, including moral ones. They don’t want the Ten Commandments and don’t consider the U.S. a Christian nation.

Fiscally Conservative – yes, libertarians are for small government and this is their best 'leg', but that didn’t stop Ron Paul from being an earmark aficionado which he can’t explain away.

Bottom line, Libertarians have some conservative positions.
Libertarians have some liberal positions.
Libertarians have some extra-terrestial positions.

No Paul. No Libertarians hijacking the conservative Tea Party movement or Sarah Palin.

Oh, goody. Another Paulbot newbie posting Paulspam.

This is the TRAULL method. They are all about infiltratring the conservative cause. Swarming and spamming

And, are you kidding me? Ron Paul endorsed that leftie Kokesh.

Ron Paul is no friend to conservatives. Ron Paul is all about Ron Paul.

Forget Paul or you won't be here long enough to fester fester.

Paul is a raving antiwar surrender monkey lunatic.

And that is on a good day.

Ron Paul Endorses Adam Kokesh for Congress

Kokesh is the Code Pink, Move-On supported anti-war traitor.

Its possible you have lost your pocket dictionary defining "conservative". It should include a statement about supporting America's military footprint and keeping it Worldwide and not bringing her soldiers home to defend her from the inside.

Ron Paul is a dangerous loon who has managed to convince college dopers that his insanity is really God-inspired genius.
