The Global Warming Hoax is not Al Gore's first attempt at defrauding the American Public. Most of the time Gore's stories are things that he needn't lie about, but he is making an attempt to shore up what must be a poor self image.
* "During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet" Gore said when asked to cite accomplishments that separate him from another Democratic presidential hopeful, former Sen. Bill Bradley of New Jersey, during an interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN on March 9, 1999. Gore supported technological advances related to the advancement of the Internet, but to say that HE took the initiative in creating the Internet is a bit much. * Gore, speaking at the Copenhagen climate change summit in 2009, stated the latest research showed that the Arctic could be completely ice-free in five years."These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr. [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75 percent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years." However, the climatologist whose work Gore was relying upon dropped the former vice president in the water with an icy blast. "It's unclear to me how this figure was arrived at," Dr. Maslowski said. "I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this." (Times of London 12/15/09)
Then of course there is the biggest Gore Hoax of all, his cash cow--Global Warming. Why is the inventor of the internet constantly lying about almost everything. Henry Miller writes in Forbes that Al Gore must have a personality disorder, specifically Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Pending lawsuit disorder.
Don’t ALL Democrat leaders have his dysfunctional disorder?
I think its a pre-requisite for employment in he Liberal Democrat Party.
Odumbo does not suffer from this.
He KNOWS he is god.
(sarc)
Obama, Clintons, Kerry, they ALL have it.
Yes, he is a pathological liar, which marks most individuals with NPD, to include Jack Squat Barry.
“Peas and carrots.” Stupid is as stupid does...
Such speculation is kind of a waste of time, given the obvious: his actions have made him very, very rich. One look no further than the normal “follow the money” rule when trying to dissect his motives.
The biggest hoax I can think of is the one that turned the dummest man in America into an intellectual giant. Go back a few years and note that every single article written about him almost universally referred to him as an intellectual giant.
Of course, the same people who wrote that stuff also fell for Global Warming and then subsequently for Obama. There is no natural limit to gullibility nor any limit to the frauds that will be played upon them.
Anyone notice that the people who are so opposed to the oil industry had no objection to Gore selling the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to Oxy for chump change?
Fraudulent-carbon-taxer-power-hungry-green-product-huckster-job-killer-needs-to-share-a-cell-with-madoff disorder.
He is worse than Bernie Madoff in pulling off THE biggest scam!
But he is tooooo boring to be a Narcissist!
I believe Gore is too stupid to be branded with anything so exotic as a personality disorder. He is just a spoon fed rich kid, frat boy with no reason to man up. He tells lies as long as they are more interesting than the truth and then wears that dumb “who me?” look when caught with his pants down. All I can think when I hear him talking is the comedic “yeahhhh, that’s the ticket!”.
Gore is just another slimy scam artist after the buck..... he’s done well in that regard.
It is those that follow him down his Yellow Brick Road that concern me even more...... all Straw Men from The Wizard of Oz.
I’ve always thought it was Schizotypal Personality Disorder.
A pervasive pattern of social and interpersonal deficits marked by acute discomfort with, and reduced capacity for, close relationships as well as by cognitive or perceptual distortions and eccentricities of behavior, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:
ideas of reference (excluding delusions of reference)
odd beliefs or magical thinking that influences behavior and is inconsistent with subcultural norms (e.g., superstitiousness, belief in clairvoyance, telepathy, or “sixth sense”; in children and adolescents, bizarre fantasies or preoccupations)
unusual perceptual experiences, including bodily illusions
odd thinking and speech (e.g., vague, circumstantial, metaphorical, overelaborate, or stereotyped)
suspiciousness or paranoid ideation
inappropriate or constricted affect
behavior or appearance that is odd, eccentric, or peculiar
lack of close friends or confidants other than first-degree relatives
excessive social anxiety that does not diminish with familiarity and tends to be associated with paranoid fears rather than negative judgments about self
Any more the reply to the question is one that properly begins with “does a bear...”
I am going to stick with lawsuit-itis fear. Gore has a $5 billion dollar investment scam hanging in the balance....
Not a very good doctor.
