Folks and Friends at Free Republic
I just wanted to inform you that one of the computers I have at home has COMPUTER ASSOCIATES' SECURITY CENTER installed on it as part of the package I have with my recent Internet and cable service provider -- CABLEVISION.
This is the CA SECURITY CENTER VERSION 4.0.0.205
Now, everytime I try to access FR on this computer, it blocks me with the following reason :
URL: http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/go-button For the following reason: based on the category Category: Hate
I have to override it by entering an administrative password to temporarily allow the FR site to go through my browser.
Out of curiosity, I tried going to the DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND site and lo and behold, the CA Parental Control software ALLOWED the site with no problems.
Just wanted you people to be aware of this double standard.
who can we contact about this...things like this make me extremely angry
I’d say that you have a lawsuit there since you will find no curse words here and there they are every other word.
They must have Joseph Goebbel’s as their boss.
figures.
Cablevision owned by the same people that own the New York Daily News?
fyi
You will find curse words here.
These are the same kind of people that call Tea Partiers and Republicans extremists yet Rachel Maddow and Keith Olberman are moderates and balanced voices of reason.....PUKE........
Hated in Cali ping.
I use CA on two computers. They’ve never blocked FR.

Call ‘em on the 800# +1 800 225-5224
Call em. Your a customer. Tell them to take it off....IMMEDIATELY.
Not true!
I have seen plenty of people on FR using foul language.
Thanks, the direct line for this particular product is : 877-205-7962. Calling them now but getting the usual “Please wait, your call is very important to us... blah blah....”
“URL: http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/go-button For the following reason: based on the category Category: Hate”
I hate that.
“You will find curse words here.”
Depends on ones’ idea of curse words. Some people get their undies in a wad over words like “damn.”
