This is the narrative if presented properly could mean the end of the Democrat Party.
Who in the Republican Party has the credibility and platform to tell the story?

Nothing personal, but this is old news. The story is how the leftist media never covered it.

The facts about this have been suppressed by the government and the media for years. We have been lied to over and over again by the leaders of this country. The media shares in the blame for these shameless lies, as they did not want to jeopardize their access to the scoundrels lining their pockets in DC. We have a totally dysfunctional corrupt government and ABC, NBC, CBS are all implicated. Too bad most of America is watching Jay-Z, Beyonce and American Idol, while the government picks your pocket for the redistribution of wealth and creeping socialism in America.

the actions of Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and Barack ObamaI seem to recall Bubba Clinton's Justice Department Civil Rights Division (Janet Reno and Deval Patrick), aided and abetted by demohacks in Congress, forcing banks to open branches and make loans in "under-served" communities with stiff fines and lawsuits promised for non-compliance.

If you think that the CRA was the cause of the mess, you are missing the point. This is just GOP revisionism at work to cover up for Wall Street. It is a lot easier to blame the poor folks for the mess than to prosecute the scoundrels on Wall Street. I suggest you google “Issa House Report” and read what the GOP actually determined. CRA loans were less that 3% of the portfolio.

The companies have been required to devote a certain amount of their annual business to low- and moderate-income borrowers, economically depressed neighborhoods and other disadvantaged groups...this story really waters down how deeply involved the 'rats were in bringing on the financial meltdown by forcing banks to lend to unqualified borrowers to try to give free houses to the poor at taxpayers' expense. According to Charles Gasparino's "The Sellout" (p 108-109 for instance)
"...eradicating poverty through home ownership [under the Clinton administration] would take big government, working with the banking business and mandating laws to force banks to lend to those most in need and with the least ability to pay...
In 1995, Cisneros (HUD Secretary)began his first major effort to influence Fannie and Freddie to dedicate more of their resources to providing mortgages for low-income families. His new measures directed the GSE's to set aside 42 percent of all their mortgage guarantees to serve what the government classified as low to moderate income borrowers...
When Andrew Cuomo succeeded Cisneros as HUD Secretary in 1997, he increased that number to 50% and began to pressure the GSE's to buy up mortgages of people classified as 'very low income'"...
Like so much of what's gone wrong in this country in the past, this financial disaster is fully the fault of the Democrats......
