Debra Medina states:
"I have never been involved with the 9-11 truth movement, and there is no doubt in my mind that Muslim terrorists flew planes into those buildings on 9/11. I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way. No one can deny that the events on 9-11 were a tragedy for all Americans and especially those families who lost loved ones."

Sorry, but if you entered this race believing it would only be about 'local' politics, you're too naive to be a part of this.
Freepmail me or ping me from the original thread to get on/off the 2010 Texas Governor's Race ping list.
I think this is always the danger of normal people getting into politics. We say we want everyday people in there, but we really don’t, because every day people say (and even think) some pretty dumb things. So do politicians, but they are better at avoiding it.
That's right. Texas is not Delaware. It's a huge state with a massive population and equally massive budget. I think it's the 15th or 16th largest GDP in the world. Contestants from amateur hour need not apply for that job, IMHO.
Medina is a liar.
Hear, hear. I don't won't "normal" people in politics, I want extraordinary people in politics. Running a state like Texas requires someone who's not just smart, with the right policy positions, but someone who is politically astute. If they aren't, the political machine will eat them alive and spit them out.
BECK: Do you believe the government was any way involved with the bringing down of the world trade centers on 9/11?
MEDINA: I, I don't, I don't have all the evidence there, Glenn, so I don't, I, I'm not in a place, I have not been out publicly, uh, questioning that, I think some very good questions have been raised in that regard, uh, there's some very good arguments and I think the American people have not seen all the evidence there, so I've not taken a position on that.
BECK: All right.
(Hilarity ensues in the studio)
BECK: I think that might be a YES...
Buh-bye, Deb, it's been nice knowin' ya, don't let the door hit you in the ass.
The most damaging part begins at about :43.
What did she say on GB?
Dan Patirck and Glenn Beck (who worked for 104 KRBE in Houston back in the 80’s) are friends.
Dan Patrick is a Perry supporter. Patrick gets to become U.S. Senator by a Perry appointment, if Kay retires.
Medina has never said she supports the 9/11 movement.
In the Dallas Morning News today they were pointing out that some posters pretending to be Medina supporters and making 9-11 Medina statements. When they checked the IPs - turned out they were actually Perry supporters. showed their “other” postings that were supporting Perry.
Perry is scared of Medina and I would guess this is probably the beginning of the mud slinging.
NEVERMIND I should have read all comments first.
Holy crap!! She said that?????
Dammit, what is wrong with these idiots?? Ok, Perry it is.
So, people need to be careful what they ask for. ;)
Spew.
Yeah, it’s kinda like “I did not have sex with that woman!” ... LOL ...
You may say it after the fact, but who is going to believe you...
I will be staying out of this race.
Well, up until this he should have been. But sadly, I think this cooked her goose. I don’t know what to believe about what she thinks (and it hardly matters since I don’t live in TX anymore) but her answer concerns me. I wish she had just said, “Of course I don’t believe in that stuff. Let’s talk about real issues.”
