D’OH!
Freepmail me or ping me from the original thread to get on/off the 2010 Texas Gubernatorial Race ping list.
LOL - you have the classic Paulestinian personality traits.
Goodness...suddenly, I’m craving a Burrito Supreme...
I beg to disagree with your point of view. Ron Paul has spoken well of Medina’s character but failed to endorse her candidacy so not sure how much of his platform or views she would share.
I do know that she is determined to close the borders to drugs and illegal alliens. She is right to court the Hispanic Texas citizens as they will make up a majority in the not too distant future. They are a big part of Texas’ work force and driving economy and politics everywhere south of Victoria. To ignore them would be to our peril as Texans and they surely do not want illegals coming over to bankrupt our healthcare services that their taxes pay for.
That’s the way I see it anyway.
I believe it was the intention of our founding father’s to have citizens of the common man serve in government, not just proven executives. I think her devotion to the citizens of Texas and her plans for leading us to freedom and prosperity are much more important, but that’s just me.
I hope you have read where she stands on the issues and watched her performance in the debates as she won all the polls taken after both debates. That should give us an indication of how she will lead.
My progressive friend, Ron Paul is a strict "Constitutionalist" if being in that company is LOL material to you, so be it. Wear your chains of tyranny well, and pass them on to your offspring.
I've seen you Paulbots shrieking "neocon!" and "statist!" and other such invectives at those of us who think your "friend" Ron Paul is a little too whacko for our more sensible leanings.
You people really are a trip and you have very identifiable traits - most of which do not indicate much stability.
Is Ron Paul breeding people in his district who are more Right than he is?
For starters look up Debra Medina's column 'Latinos and the GOP'
'Its a shame isnt it, that Republicans continue to ignore Hispanics especially here in Texas?' Debra Medina
'Ignore them', Mrs Medina? Since when? What more do you want? Or shouldn't we ask?
Medina ad:
Who is going to think more about Latino families? Rick Perry, Kay Bailey Hutchison or me, who has a Latino family? (Medinas cultural heritage is German and Bohemian.)
She told a colleague last month in an e-mail. Being married, however, to someone with a Mexican American heritage, I certainly embrace the culture. But before she explained that, she told my colleage, who had asked her whether she considers herself Latina: Id not consider myself anything other than a wife and mother, a nurse and a patriot. I believe we too often get into race when its immaterial.
No, Thanks, Mrs Medina.
She is also running Spanish ads. Hello Mrs.Medina! If they cannot speak English then they have no business voting IMO. When they learn English then let them vote. Assimilate. Learn English. Appreciate all America gives you.
So Im sure she is blowing a lot of hot air just like Obama did just to get elected. Running those ads and saying what she has, tells me the border issue is just a try to get votes for herself.
Medina is about as qualified to be Governor as zero was to be President- want to re-visit how that is working out? She's a Libertarian running on the Republican ticket. She is supported by the Ron Paul worship crowd and she herself has acted in the Ron Paul worship capacity. She has demonstrated a lack of knowledge about Texas law and current ballot initiatives.
No, thanks, Ill stick with ol RINO Perry. Texas has remained in better shape than almost any if not all of the states in the union under Perry's watch. As someone said, 'he's the devil we know'.
The motly crew running for governor is laughable; a MUSLIM, a trecherous RINO woman* (Hutchison) and a woman with questionable loyalties
*Feds Have Built Only 32 Miles of 700 Mile Double-Border Fence Originally Mandated by Congress One reason DHS has been able to do this is an amendment that Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R.-Texas) slipped into an omnibus appropriations bill that Congress passed on December 18, 2007. Hutchisons amendment put a loophole in the fence law that allowed the secretary of Homeland Security not to build the fence Congress had mandated the year before.

Nice quote, Broken_arrow. Did you see the latest endorsement for Medina? I think by th end of the primary, her campgaign will truly go national. Also, she is going to be on Glenn Beck’s radio show tomorrow.
Here’s the latest:
Debra Shows Momentum in Public Policy Poll
According to a poll released yesterday by the North Carolina-based Public Policy Polling, Debra is climbing fast in the race for Texas Governor. With Rick Perry at 39% and 28% for Kay Bailey Hutchison, Debra is now at a whopping 24%. With a margin of error of 4.8%, Debra is running neck and neck with Kay. With this momentum we can and will win!
The report goes on to say that there are major ideological splits with Perry at 42% with conservatives. Medina is now outpolling Hutchison with conservatives by a 25-23 margin.
“The big question for Debra Medina is whether theres enough unhappy voters out there for her to get into a runoff with Rick Perry.” said Dean Debnam, President of PPP. “That would rank up there with the results of the Massachusetts Senate election as an early shocker in the 2010 political season.”
We Texans say, “Oh yes, we are fed up with business as usual by career politicians.” It is time for a fresh voice with freedom in her heart and that is Debra Medina.
Independent Texans Endorse Debra Medina for Governor
Isnt this a perfect match? Debra Medina, an independent-thinking Texan, is endorsed by Independent Texas voters for a big win on Texas Independence Day, March 2nd.
We found out yesterday that Independent Texans, the only voter association seeking representation and political rights for approximately 5 million non-aligned Texas voters, proudly endorsed Debra Medina for Texas Governor in the Republican primary.
“Mrs. Medina met the 60% support threshold of Independent Texans members to receive our endorsement. Congratulations to Debra Medina and her supporters,” said Linda Curtis, founder of Independent Texans.
We are proud to accept their endorsement for sure! Thank you Independent Texans for your support of freedom and a citizen candidate!
Debra to Appear on Glenn Beck Show Tomorrow
Debra will be a guest at 10am tomorrow, February 11th, on Glenn Beck’s national radio program. Listen live online at http://www.glennbeck.com/
How Can You Help?

Debra Medina being on Glenn Beck’s radio show is a coup. If she actually made it into the runoff, it would be a Libertarian triumph.
One can only hope that she overtakes KBH in the polls in the nest few days. Then maybe Kay will drop out.

I believe Latinos are already the majority in Texas, aren’t they?
Either way, we shouldn’t alienate Latino voters by totally ignoring issues that are important to them. We share many values and can find common ground. Every single Latino family I know (lower, middle, and upper class) is hard-working, family-oriented, and God-fearing. Some pay taxes and some don’t. But not one of those families takes a welfare handout, much less uses it for booze and drugs.
When push comes to shove in this country (as I believe it will) between conservatives and progressives, I’ll be proud to have Texas Latinos standing beside me.
Nope, haven’t seen it. Got a link? Very interesting.
