VY plant officials said Friday they found tritium levels in the sump pit that are three times higher than those recently found in groundwater samples...2.7 microcurries per liter...
IOW's they have found miniscule amounts of tritium and are investigating. There is no public health hazard from these levels.
IIRC, tritium has a half life of 12 years. That’s hardly blazing-hot radiation. It’s also a very low-energy beta emitter. If it is in water, I doubt that any radiation has the energy to actually escape the water, and the only way to detect it is through scintillation counting.
Or, in emotional liberal-speak: Vermont is DOOMED!!!!

what is a blog pimp?
If a blogger wished to inform or show people on freerepublic an article or news item, in what section should it be shown? I selected ‘Bloggers and Personal’ because Since I was referencing a blog, it only made sense. The screen caps of the stories, I have found a necessary evil because often times the stories are pulled, leaving no way to view that which I referenced.
So maybe I am missing something here.
Could you please explain what the term indicates, and if it is something that is ‘not done’ then I will try not to do it again.
