Obama in 1980 said he was born in Mombasa, Kenya
>> a chance meeting in the vicinity of Kalakaua Blvd., one evening in early August of 1980.

"We spoke of where I had been and the world as I saw it. I told him I had been to Africa, Mombassa specifically, and he said to me abruptly, I was born there.

>>I cant prove it, no one was with me, but I DID meet a young Mulatto male in 1980 about 1 1/2 months after I got back from deployment to Iran, while stationed in Hawaii.
He told me he was raised in Indonesia, had family in Hawaii and the mainland, his views on America were outragous but I dont remember any details, just the emotion. He was friendly enough, talkative.
And when I started telling him where I had been in the Corps for foreign countries, I told him I was just in Mombassa he interrupted me and said I WAS BORN THERE.
I cant prove who I saw, I cant remember his name at all, I have no recollection of his name at all, but I vaguely remember his face and it is Obama.
I remember that face.
I remember this event because I went back to the barracks to get people to gather their scrap books to go back to Honolulu to show him pictures of Mombassa so he could see where he was born.
Born in Mombassa, Raised in Indonesia, Living in Hawaii in1980, Mulatto kid about 18 or so...Robert Redford?<<

The Hostage Rescue Attempt in Iran was April 24-25, 1980.
WAIT!!! Did the kid know what the corps was, or did he think they were talking about dead bodies?
I think your story is fascinating. I know the truth is out there and it’s just a matter of time before it is revealed. This isn’t the kind of secret a “president” can keep forever. He’s so nervous about it that he saw fit to mention it at the prayer meeting the other day.
http://www.rescueattempt.com/ is my website.
The last time my dad (retired USMC) was here in the states, he made it a point that we visit the Operation Eagle Claw Memorial at Arlington.
For some reason there are a lot of people either involved in covering up Hussein's birth records, or who choose to look the other way and ignore The Constitution - and that includes some on this forum.
helo related, not just helo crew
:)
(I never left the boat, I wasn’t at Desert One, not a part of it at all, not claiming anything here except I was off the coast for 50 days before it happened.)
Yeah. Republicans have elected Scott Brown, and rallying around candidates who have a chance at winning many other races. Republicans are organizing, raising money, and settling on a positive agenda of limited government and individual rights.
Must be time to distract them by re-posting a bunch of Birtherism Bravo Sierra. Great job. Obama approves.
Don't forget the "He's a Brit, not an American" canard.
Oh, I haven't seen Birthers peddling the "He was born in Canada" fairy tale in some time. Maybe you need to recycle that too.
There is an election coming up in less than 10 months. Freepers who want to make a difference will work to defeat Obama at the polls. Freepers who want to engage in make believe will indulge in Birtherism.
right across from the Tomb of the Unknown, next to the Challenger memorial.
‘It is doubtful any serviceman would identify a brief landing in Iran as a deployment.’
“Deployment:
The United States Military [1] defines the term as follows:
1. In naval usage, the change from a cruising approach or contact disposition to a disposition for battle.
2. The movement of forces within operational areas.
3. The outer positioning of forces into a formation for battle.
4. The relocation of forces and materiel to desired operational areas.
5. In army usage, the term “downrange” is also common.
Deployment encompasses all activities from origin or home station through destination, specifically including intra-continental United States, intertheater, and intratheater movement legs, staging, and holding areas.”
wish I remembered that one, too! :)
Here are the actual words from Race Bannon's original post on Gathering of Eagles blog:
"...on board the USS Okinawa in 1980 when we were heading to Iran. My ship was part of the 31st Marine Amphibious Unit, deployed in January 1980 from Pearl Harbor as normal, and once in Subic Bay, Philippines, President Jimmy Carter announced what is now called, 'The Carter Doctrine'."
Bump
I was in Tehran on February 14, 1979 when the embassy was overrun the first time. I left on March 31, 1979.
Lots of naval assets were there. Many ships have Marine guards assigned to them. Many carry Marine Corpsmen.
They're just jealous. I thank you for putting this 'out there'. It's interesting to contemplate. I take your word for it. I've been reading your posts around here for nearly 10 years and I find it hard to believe that you'd suddenly jump the shark and start making up stories.
The Marines get their corpsmen from the Navy.
Bears repeating. Once the Obama administration becomes one of the biggest jokes in history and is water under the bridge any well financed foreign born person will be able to run for President, using Obama as precedent.
Mr. Bannon thank you very much for your service. Thank you also for coming forward with your recollection knowing that even some of the people posting here would ridicule it.
For the benefit of those who have not bothered to follow the links to Mr. Nannon’s account I would like to quote him,
“I was NOT one of the Marines, Army, Navy or Air Force Personnel that actually went in to Desert One, I was just off the coast of Iran during their mission. I honor those men because I would have been there with them if ever given the chance, and I call them heroes to this day.”
I have learned the hard way that before casting dispersions on someone here, it is better to look just a little closer. I hope that someday the truth will be known on this issue. The only problem I have with Mr. Bannons account is that it is based on words that came from the lips of Barak Obama himself. The man lies about everything all the time.
