Officials in Massachusetts certified Republican Scott Brown's election to the US Senate today, clearing the way for him to be sworn in at approximately 5:00pm this evening. Unfortunately, Massachusetts Secretary of State William F. Galvin, a Democrat, could not resist one final political swipe before signing the certification.

If I remember correctly back in the day, the swimmer (I guess now it’s the floater) was sworn in in less than forty-eight hours.
The money quote: “So before I affix my signature to this, I’d like to call on Senator Brown to respect the rights of the majority. I hope we will be able to see an up or down vote on all the nominations of President Obama and that the rights of the majority as they have been respected here are respected in the United States Senate.”
Essentially, he expects Brown to vote with the Dems (the majority) and said so. What a snapper head. Shoosh. Dems expecting Repubs to vote their way after getting their ass handed to them. Makes sense if you are from MA I guess?
"The vehicle for this planned hijacking of democracy is called the Secretary of State Project. The entity can accept unlimited financial contributions and doesn't have to disclose them publicly until well after the election."
The Democrats have more than 50 seats in the senate, therefore the Republicans ought to roll over and let the Dems do whatever they please. Give me a break.
Of course, too often that's what some Republicans do ...
NEWSFLASH Mr. Galvin, the majority of the voters elected Senator Brown not the majority party in Congress. Why do Democrats so often dismiss the will of the people.
I thought the Dems in the minority with their seditious and treasonous behavior were bad, but the Dems with the upper hand is so much worse. I prefer their dissent to their heavy handed fascism.
Teddy was sworn-in 14 hours after the election ended.

Nothing that the 2nd amendment can’t fix.
Scott Brown should issue a public statement telling this man to pound sand.
Funny, but as I recall, the MAJORITY didn’t want Mass. law changed AGAIN to allow for the immediate seating of Kirk in Kennedys old seat. Apparently the majority in Mass is WRONG from time to time, huh?

Well said, well said. We don’t say elephants have a great memory for nothin’!
.....Massachusetts Secretary of State William F. Galvin, a Democrat, could not resist one final political swipe before signing the certification.....
Galvin’s just another over-entitled long-term incumbent Blue-State Democrat, who NEVER listens to his constituents because he’s never had to for a very long time.
Hey, Galvin, we elected Scott Brown specifically to block DeathCare and all the other vile and disgusting proposals coming from the obama administration, which are rubber-stamped by Reid and all the other robot ‘Rat Senators. Get over it! Don’t be a dinosaur!
Brown should have told him to shut up and sign the document.
To the best of my knowledge, no Senate Republican has publicly brought up the idea of filibustering Obama's nominations. Galvin must be concerned that the GOP might be inclined to to use the same tactics that the Senate Dem minority used to block Bush nominees not that long ago.
But give Galvin "credit": He didn't attempt to change the outcome of the election, in contrast to the MN 'Rat SOS in the Coleman-Franken Senate race.
Galvin’s still a bitter little bitch.
I agree with your translation:
We’re terrified that you will do what we would do - filibuster.
William F. Galvin
Galvin, as the Massachusetts' Secretary of State, was found to have violated the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act passed in 2002, in which he failed to report and collect the number sent and the number returned of absentee ballots from overseas Military personnel registered to vote in Massachusetts. After an investigation by the US Justice Department, a settlement was reached to force Galvin to comply with the law
Thanks for the ping!
