see post # 174 for your response.
You have failed to address this which is the reason I characterize your replies non-responsive. If you want the "last word" to sustain your ego, so be it.

And that is YOUR straw man argument. I never said he was responsible for the death of any POW/MIA--you introduced that angle. I maintained that he was responsible after Vietnam for deliberately obsfucating anyone finding out what happened to the men we KNOW we left behind. The proof of McCain's complicitiy in that is undeniable.
As for your straw man argument, you cannot prove the converse.
Your logic is saying that if someone can go out and accomplish acts of bravery in the service of their country, then that gives them a free ticket to come home and act like a complete coward and traitor for as long as they feel like it?
Wrong. That kind of free ticket is nonsense. McCain might have been a hero several decades ago, but he’s completely ruined it with his actions as a politician. He now fights against the very principles he once shed blood for.
McCain has not only debased himself and his own name, he’s corrupted the very idea of being a hero.
I don’t know if McCain was brainwashed by his captors in an attempt to mold him into a secret weapon to perpetrate tyranny and statism on America from within. But if he was, it would explain his political behavior perfectly.
Anything is possible and it might explain why he is always so willing to "play ball" with the enemy (Democrats), avoid confrontations and appease. His actions belie his rhetoric. The public's judgment of his political standing is clouded by the "hero" myth and deference to a war veteran.
The first is that McCain is and ustable, overbreaing, short temepred a$$hole. I have heard this from many people who have worked closely with him for years.
The second is that there were live POW’s left in VN and McCain is well aware of that and chose instead to work for VN “normalization” rather than press the the POW/MIA case.
I have ABSOLUTELY no doubt about POW’s being left. Why? I was there and I know what I saw and EXACTLY what I was ordered to do about it. After many years I found the person who briefed the Senate committee on POW’s I know what he said and what McCain’s reaction was. Let’s just say Johnny boy wanted nothing to do with it.
I do agree with the first three words of your last paragraph. “I don't know” There are volumes that you don't know about what this man has been through. You bring up brainwashing as if you have some first hand experience with it. As you said, you don't know but I guess it still sounds good.
I don't like his politics and I have repeatedly stated that position, but I do respect the man. I guess in your mind no one deserves your respect unless they agree with your thoughts ideas all the time. Hitler had that same exact view on life. It is all about "My way or no way."
You’re not listening.
Patriotic actions do not buy credit redeemable for future anti-patriotic behavior. In fact, they don’t even mitigate it.
That’s all.
(And if you question my respect for POWs, you’re a communist plant.)
Another way of saying it:
When yesterday’s heroes become today’s cowards, we call them cowards.
Especially when their cowardly behavior helps ruin their country.
You don't "win" the Congressional Medal of Honor.
I'm correcting you, because Freeper Chapita can't...
