The line of thinking of this author has crossed my mind before as well. Some of the outrageous perspectives promoted by McPain can IMO be only sourced to mental instability.

McPain needs to be removed from office. He’s a danger to our Nation.

Good to see you got your Two Minutes of Hate in today...

His attacks on Vietnam POW and MIA activist groups in the early 1990s are all documented and on the record.

It's not "hate" to point out that McCain is a scoundrel, a weasel, and possibly a traitor too.

When you have walked in his shoes you will have earned the right to judge him. I have lost a couple friends in the last few years who were POW’s. You have no idea what these brave souls have suffered through. Every man can be broken and every one of them did break. Then they got back up and got ready for the next round. This went on for years.
You may not agree with his politics but he has earned the respect of this country.

It is nothing short of incredible that a...conservative Senator has led the...betrayal of the American people

As far as I'm concerned, "it is nothing short of incredible that a" so-called "conservative" political populace would elect & re-elect this guy to the Senate several times, & then to top it off, nominate him to be their Presidential candidate & vote for him AGAIN!

I may not agree with his politics, but damned if I’ll second guess him on what he did while a POW. No way.

However it is slander the way you state what he did. You know why he attacked that group? Because they were claiming the US knowingly left living POWs in Vietnam. They called the US military and President traitors for knowingly leaving POWs behind. Didn’t add that, did you? Kind of makes his statement about a SMALL GROUP of POW/MIA families (no, it wasn’t all of them, just a small group) a bit different, doesn’t it?

You’re just a hateful little man, but you go on with your Two Minutes of Hate and shout away at your favorite target. Vent your rage...

Too bad you love Obama and the Leftists who are really destroying this country. No, you only hate John McCain...

However, it would appear that under extreme torture and indoctrination at the hands of his communist captors, he may have been turned...Turned against his own country and sent back to dismantle that country. It is a possibility that needs to be investigated.

What a load of bull crap, vicious nonsense.

McCain, like all POW's underwent extensive debriefment and he was deemed sane, unlike his detractors who regularly launch vicious attacks on his POW days, namely one sick idiot, Ted Sampley, who I think, might have finally passed from this earth.

However it is slander the way you state what he did.

If (and that's a big *if*) my statements were in fact untrue, then they would have constituted libel, as libel is written while slander is oral or verbal.

Too bad you apparently don't know the difference.

Because they were claiming the US knowingly left living POWs in Vietnam. They called the US military and President traitors for knowingly leaving POWs behind.

Really?

U.S. POW/MIAs Who May Have Survived In Captivity

Prepared by the Office of Senator Bob Smith
Vice-Chairman, Senate Select Committee on POW/MIA Affairs

December 1, 1992

This listing contains the names of 324 still unaccounted for U.S. personnel from the Vietnam Conflict. Approximately 300 of these personnel were last known alive in captivity in Vietnam and Laos, last known alive, out of their aircraft before it crashed, or their names were passed to POWs who later returned. A handful of the cases involves incidents where the aircraft was later found on the ground with no signs of the crew. This listing is based on all-source U.S. intelligence and casualty reports, information provided by POWs who were returned, lists of POWs and/or last known alive personnel prepared by the Defense Intelligence Agency, and other information made available to the Vice-Chairman, Select Committee on POW/MIA Affairs. (The difference between 300 and 324 accounts for known incidents where one or more unidentified crew members were captured from a crew of more than one, or the aircraft was found with no trace of the crew.)

Based on the high number of MIAs at the end of the war who are still unaccounted for (currently 1,170 persons for whom the USG does not know their fate), it is probable that a significant percentage of the MIAs NOT on this 324 list actually survived their incident and could have been captured. Apparently, only the Vietnamese and Laotians would know thei fate, as the U.S. Governemnt does not. Given this reality, the list of 324 names which follows is at best conservative.

Moreover, it should be noted that this number is consistent with the overall numbers represented in the volume of detailed captivity following the war in Vietnam and Laos which have been the focus of investigation by Committee staff.

I found that link on TigersEye's list at post 11.

Do you want to dispute it, and do you want me to start digging through the various databases to which I have access?

Too bad you love Obama and the Leftists who are really destroying this country.

When did I write that?

Or are you now prone to libeling me?

McCain single-handedly keeps trying to give the French the very lucrative aircraft contract for building tanker planes for the US air force even as there is 18% unemployment in the USA. Every time someone stops the deal with France, McCain gets it going again. He is fighting for it right now. I wonder what is in it for him and his crony friends. Hmmmm?

You’re exactly right about that group and I won’t argue with about the rest of your post either.

This post about McCain has reached a new low.

Speaks volumes about the poster.

Your devotion to McCain is touching but there is a legitimate question here.

The effect of prolonged captivity on a person's mental status has long been a subject of study, and it is not unreasonable to ask whether some of McCain's actions have been influenced by his history. It is well established that some POW's have done "what had to be done to survive," and that includes harm to fellow inmates. It is also known that captives sometimes adopt the point of view of their captors. No one can allege with certainty that McCain did any of these things, but the fact is that nothing can be ruled out a priori.

It is misguided to attack a person for asking these questions.

" You may not agree with his politics but he has earned the respect of this country."

First off, anyone who was a guest of the Vietnamese has my total sympathy, really.

But as I understand it, the Gods of Aviation did not smile on McCain, he crashed two aircraft during his student days. Kinda indicates he had no business in high performance A/C?

Please correct me if I'm wrong?

Last, he is reported to be good friends with Sen. Kerry, D-Mass.

Kerry - you may recalled - said US troops were evil and acted like 'Ghenis Khan' (sp?).

Sorry, but your friends are a reflection of who you are.

Even Benedict Arnold was a hero for a while.

This article is garbage. So much of the story is left out. A congressional medal of honor winner named Bud Day backs him. I am no McCain fan but please this is tripe.
