Bin Laden: A hoax like the warming he champions
The American Thinker ^ | January 30, 2010 | Jack Cashill

A January 29 Associated Press headline shouts without apparent irony, "Bin Laden Blames U.S. for Global Warming in New Tape." Under the headline is a photo of Osama bin Laden speaking into a microphone.

"Talk about climate change is not an ideological luxury but a reality," bin Laden told the world, at least as translated by Al Jazeera. "All of the industrialized countries, especially the big ones, bear responsibility for the global warming crisis."

At first glance, the photo -- in combination with a headline about a "tape" -- challenged my belief that bin Laden is long since dead. On closer inspection, however, I saw that the tape in question was an "audiotape" and that the photo in question was dated "October 7, 2001."

If anything, these two bits of inadvertent evidence strengthen the case that a breathing, badgering Osama is as much a charade as the global warming hysteria he now helps incite.

Maybe a bin Laden tape will surface having him go on about the advantages of a high speed rail system.

I think the same tape says something about being angry that we don’t have universal health care and high speed trains.

No, no. Don't worry. See the sense of urgency we Americans have for high speed rail? It's universal. Like health care.

I’m happy someone else falls prey to being so anxious to make a comment about something that all caution is thrown to wind, including that someone might already have expressed exactly the same idea! I hate it when I do that. I always fear the other poster will fail to see it as just one more manifestation of my compulsive personality disorder!

Maybe I’ve grown sensitive to things like this but wondering if it was a recent photo was my immediate reaction to the first line of the story.

I have said Bin Laden was dead for years.

Maybe they stuffed him and use his body for these announcements.

Geez, where are the pics of him sitting around an electric space heater being run by a solar pannel or wind turbine?

Here’s the scenario you should think about.

Here’s this guy....living week after week in the mountains of Pakistan...in a cave. He finally gets this one visitor...like some Jihad Johnny from London...who chatters all about global warming.

Bin Laden sits there for a day or two....and then believes this whole thing.

Now, what you should think about....just how naive is Bin Laden? Are we missing a dynamic that might be the strategy to overcome his entire agenda? This guy was stupid enough to believe in global warming....what else might he be stupid about, and how could we introduce Al Gore and a host of other idiots to Bin Laden?

I think whoever is producing these tapes is monitoring the Western press pretty closely to understand Western anxieties, but is listening with a tin ear and writing with a leaden hand.

I think the U.S. should covertly spread the rumor that Osama is dead, specify his gravesite in a remote location and post snipers to pick off pilgrims. We really don’t want to discourage pilgrimages, they will distract resources that could be used against us. The CIA could set up a Jihad Airline to offer discount fairs to the nearest suitable goat pasture to the gravesite from all locations throughout the Caliphate.

Actually, if I were running the world, there would be an express service from the gravesite flytrap to Gitmo.

Next Bin Laden “Weekend at Bernie’s” moment:

Osama proclaims that the polar bears are endangered by global warming, er, climate change, and that it is imperative that every Muslim make pilgrimmage to the Arctic Circle to help “feed” the polar bears.....

btw, these Allah-worshippers sure do seem to forget that everything is supposed to be “as Allah wills it” —— if it is Allah’s will that the planet should warm, who are they to interfere?
