Here is video of CNN's Jack Cafferty saying he hopes Hillary Clinton will decide to challenge President Obama in 2012 for Democrat Nomination. Cafferty made the statement at the end of an opinion piece in which he talked about Obama's declining poll numbers, and how it would be a great thing for journalists to see the two square off once again. Cafferty indicated he does not mean he supports Clinton or Obama, but would love to see the two battle it out once again.

Somehow, I doubt the White House is hoping to see a rematch. . . . (VIDEO)

I just posted the same thing in another thread. Hillary will position herself as the centrist pragmatist. To the right of Obama and to the left of whatever Republican runs. The media will carry the water for sure. I wonder if this hasn’t been the plan ever since the primary.

Bob Shrum needs to get started on his next losing campaign.

Yes (although she essentially positioned herself, probably correctly, exactly the same way during the primaries), but also she’ll point out that she’s mostly got Obama’s policies BUT IS COMPETENT.

“A 100% accurate predictor for whether or not a president will be reelected is whether or not they face a strong primary challenge during their quest for a second term.

Bush Sr : Pat Buchanan
Jimmy Carter : Ted Kennedy
Gerald Ford : Ronald Reagan

Both Johnson and Truman chose not to even seek reelection because they were going to lose the Democrat nomination.
The Democrat nominees who replaced them went on to lose both of those elections.

So in a word: Go Hillary!”

You are quite correct. Go Hillary!!!! Hillary will be the 2012 version of Ted Kennedy in ‘80. Obama will be weak just like Carter was in his re-election bid. Operation Chaos Part II, let’s do it!

In the main your post is correct and I agree with it. Your statement about the reason for Truman's choice not to seek reelection, however is incorrect.
