Michelle Malkin: Ellie Light's IP Address Looks like it Originates in California
Associated Content (AC) ^ | January 26, 2010 | Marc Schenker

Michelle Malkin has reported that Ellie Light's IP address looks like it originates somewhere in California. Appearing on Hannity last night, she brought the audience up to speed with regards to the blogosphere's sleuthing efforts in outing this fake, Obama-praising fiend. Based on the efforts of two bloggers in particular—one by the name of Sabrina Eaton at the Plain Dealer in Ohio and the other being a guy who goes by "Patterico"—we know all these details about the incognito coward who calls herself "Ellie Light" and who's nothing but a pro-Obama, pro-Dem spreader of their talking points. California appears a plausible place for Ellie Light because she has also used a California address in her fake newspaper submissions. And if you think about it, what other states besides California would produce the most fanatical, pro-Obama acolytes? I can't think of any others, except for maybe states in the Northeast.

You could not be more wrong. Even MSM is reporting the letter in over 60 newspapers...and in Europe.

Come in from the fog.

Have to make sure the IP address is authentic, not a proxy service (like Anonymizer which is in California).

I was going to say the same thing. Giganews has their new VyprVPN service, which has a California IP address, too, as well as a European one.

Curiously enough, I recall seeing Nellie Blight’s name in a pro-Obama letter to the editor last week in McPaper aka U.S.A. Today.

You can spoof MAC addresses very easily (IPs are a snap to mask as well) - it’s a standard feature on many routers. A few of my home networks are cloned to match one single MAC address.

I do it because my cable internet won’t work if I reboot all and they start up out of sequence - the router and service marries to one single MAC. To reset it all takes 5-10 minutes of being powered down.

“Nelie Blight”? LOL!

Isn’t it pathetic that so few real citizens write letters supporting obama, that his WH PSY OPS group has to gin up a a faux letter writing campaign?

But why are so many editors publishing it? I think there is another scandal here.

OMG, watch for all these fake people to vote, too

My hometown editor published this propaganda. But when I write a letter to the newspaper, I get an email asking for permission to publish, address, and phone number

That was my point in an earlier thread. Knowing that there is usually some sort of vetting process to get a Letter to the Editor published, it seems too far fetched to believe that this ONE letter by a phony person can get published almost simultaneously across the US.

Ellie (short for Luella) means “light”. So, Ellie Light translates to “Light Light”. Light upon Light is a fundamentalist Islamic website. ‘nuf said.

In addition, light upon light refers to Koranic passages and Islamic teachings. With the latest message from UBL, could these letters be a code to activate sleeper cells?

OK, I admit it.

There are only 60 places between Ruidoso and South Carolina, and every single one of them published this letter.

Sheesh.

I think you mean the MAC address. The IP can be changed, but a MAC address is constant

I bet this person is paid operative of the DNC or the Obama White House. Just imagine if this was a Bush Supporter what the MSM would be doing? Maybe we should all start to Spam the newsmedia with Birther stories or anti-Obama letters—O we don’t need to. The Tea Parties are doing that by themselves.

Me too. It wasn’t completely inaccurate, though, just a bit sensationalist.

“There are only 60 places between Ruidoso and South Carolina, and every single one of them published this letter.”

You are just being nit-picky with semantics. We already understand the language was meant to stir emotion in the reader. We are past that, but you seem to be insistent that this is a journalistic crime of the highest order while ignoring the much bigger offense. Your insistence on throwing out the good in favor of the perfect and to the benefit of the terrible does not debunk this HUGE scandal. Please get off your high horse.

I have no intentions of debunking the scandal but the cause is not helped by such over-the-top hyperbole.

I don’t know how many papers but McClatchey posted it on their home page. I think that the only McClatchey paper who printed it was the Miami Sun.

I think that it came from some Democrat media control group. They had a fairly effective media campaign going last fall, with operatives of local SEIU branches spamming the media. I caught them in the Bellingham Herald and called them on it. The letters were just too formulaic and juvenile. I think that someone just gave up on the union letters and wrote one and sent to a lot of papers.

I think that it is part of a MoveOn.org letter campaign. MoveOn has taken over the health care campaign in Bellingham, WA for the SEIU. I guess the SEIU doesn’t have a large presence in Whatcom County, other than the Indidan tribe (tribes have their own branch of the SEIU). MoveOn is having a rally in front of the office of Congressman Rick Larsen today at noon.
