I’m sure that Palin would a very active VP and would quickly become acclimated with much of what the President is doing. This would be hands on training.

Remember, she will have been out of an active governing role for almost 3 and a half years by the time the 2012 elections role around. Give her some time and training to take over as Commander In Chief.

I agree when you get someone like Biden as VP, the office does seem to be pretty meaningless. Fortunately Palin is no Biden.

Constitutionally the VPOTUS position is pretty worthless, its power being exercised only upon the rare occasions there is a tie in the Senate or the President is unable to serve.

The power/influence/hands on training/whatever is completely up to the POTUS as to how much, or how little, they have their hands on the ‘wheels of power’.

After four years as VPOTUS, Palin would be seven years away from her executive experience.

Never have understood how being VPOTUS puts one on the fast track to POTUS nominee; but that being the case it is quite possible that someone with Presidential aspirations would take the job.

I’m getting linked to some old 9/2008 poll - anyone else having that issue?

“Barack Obama, 4 year senator (and he was running for president)”

And 2 1/2 of those 4 years, he campaigned for POTUS and the other 18 months he basically voted present. We have not other information about this candidate, er this POTUS, er this TOTUS...

How many votes is it saying have been cast? They claim that in one month in 2008 they got 52 million votes.

Yes, because qualification for the presidency is automatic qualification for the vice presidency.

There was no vote count on the window with the poll results, as you can see from my Screenshot. Dynachrome, the poll-ping list master, says that this is the poll that wouldn't die. Apparently it's from the '08 election. Makes sense -- VP? She's not running for VP now. And there are apparently 52 million votes, so it can't be moved anymore anyway.

So now it looks as if they've opened another poll at the same link, and it's already heavily biased against Sarah.

Right, but look at some of the screenshots above with different numbers. I’m wondering if there’s an issue with the poll mechanism. btw, my results looked like yours - and skewed against Sarah. Others seemingly had different results - even a different looking screen shot. I hate polls that don’t seem to work...makes me wonder...

So you got two different screen shots - the one in #18 is from this poll, or the one in 2008? Guess I’m confused from your two different images. I voted, and my results were skewed like yours in your later post. But others were getting that 51 - 47 results.

The one in Post #18 was from the poll that appeared at the link yesterday. That was the one Dynachrome called the poll that wouldn’t die.

The one in Post #48 was from this morning at the same link in the OP, but it is obviously a new poll with a different format and fewer responses.

Never trust PBS.
