Talk about a mugging in New Orleans.
How many times was Favre slammed to the ground while the refs saw nothing.
And those same refs were blind to the truth at the end of the game too.
Guess they didn’t want the Chocolate City to burn.
If the Colts want to win the Super Bowl they best not make the score close at the end.
Farve’s haters, I include myself, were recruited into that camp by the Diva act he has pulled year after year. Play or don’t play. It isn’t that hard of a decision. If you don’t want to attend camp, tell people rather then pretend you are done and then a week after camp ends return.
Just don’t pull the victim card if an organization finally tires of the act one year too many and decides they better start prepapring for the next 10 years. They aren’t obligated to indulge your ego.
LOL. Try the decaf. Did I say anything about anyone else? We were talking about one guy, Favre.
The apologism and irrational love for this guy is over the top.
As is the opposite. He's just a football player, for crikey's sake. The haters seem to have as little perspective as the idolators. I am neither. If he could play the guitar like Danny Gatton, then I'd idolize him. :-)
If it's OK with you, I'll still like him for how he plays the game, even if you disagree.
Yes, 309 starts. I like Chillydog AKA Major Dad as coach.
Every year here thus far, his record improves.
I don’t lay the blame all on Favre. You cannot fumble that many times and expect to win.The defense can’t save you all night long.
I’d rather hear more Favre rumors than more Katrina stories for the next 2 weeks. For the record,I think he’ll be back again next year.
Horrible call on the pass interference in overtime. They didn’t show it much, but the one time they did, I could see NO contact.
If he does come back next year and whatever team he plays for does not live up to this years Vikings, he's gonna be called worse names by his detractors and be subjected to worse criticism than what he's getting now for leading the Vikings to the NFC Championship game.
A good football team with a QB like Favre has a good chance of making it to the championship.
A mediocre football team with a great QB will never make it . A team like the Detroit Lions with Jesus as QB would still never make it.
Favre is my all time favorite QB with Peyton Manning now my second. I want to see Favre go out on a high note and this season and yesterday's game was definitely a high note in my opinion.
If the Vikings want him to play next year then I say great, do it because they could duplicate this year's performance. If they don't want him back then I don't want to see him playing for a team that doesn't have a chance.
Keep in mind that there are 31 NFL teams, 16 in the AFC and 15 (one which shall forever go unnamed) in the NFC, and only one team from each league will make it to the Super Bowl. To reach that point you need more than skill, you need luck, luck and more luck.........One key injury along the way can put an end to it all.
There's 16 teams in the NFC too. Have been since '95.
Who gives a crap about these pumped up overpaid athletes....
I agree, but I also think the bad calls equalled out. I agree with Aikman on the flagged hit on Brett. It was hard ,but legal.
For that game, the theme song should have been “Ball on the ground”.
Reread what I said......
one which shall forever go unnamed
“Tom Watson, Brett Favre, next? Looking for another old guy to induct into the Close But No Cigar Hall of Fame...”
Uh, hate to remind you, but Favre won the Superbowl in ‘97.
“So then, Favre didn’t have two interceptions and a fumble last night?”
The two interceptions, especially the overanalyzed last one, did not cost him the game. It can be argued that the fumble was the “turning point,” but it wasn’t all Brett’s fault. Peterson, tghe guy who also fumbled two times on his own, was there too.
Don't know which one you're referring to. Everyone seems to have their own 'most hated' NFC team.
Mine is the 49ers, but since they've been terrible lately, I've substituted the Eagles in their place as the NFC team I always root against.
“he ended his teams chance of winning with a terrible pick”
BS. The penalty cost them the chance to win. The only thing you can fault Brett for is not running. But he’s never been a good rusher, and it’s hard to tell what him hobbling downfield at the end of the game after getting hit 15 times would have accomplished.
In summation, the pick was meaningless. Without it, Longwell still has at least 50 yards to kick. After they got a first down with Taylor, they should have remained aggressive and gone for better field-position. This pile-on of Farve befuddles me. Just because the pick came right at the end doesn’t mean they lost because of it.
It would have been a record breaker, but it was a better shot than just going for the end zone.
The all time longest kick was made by fellow Saint Tom Dempsey.
LOL. Apparently your comprehension center has been compromised by your Favre hating.
When it comes to football, I am a Ravens fan. A Ravens fan who happens to enjoy watching Favre play football. A Ravens fan who wants to grind Favre into the dust (unfortunately never happened) when Favre plays the Ravens.
If so that’s bad, very bad for the stock market. The Super Bowl indicator states that if the AFC wins, the market is down for the year
That really didn’t work too well after the Giants won.
Scratching head. They get 3 point there, they win. Favre, even with gimpy legs could have gained at least 5 yards on that play setting up a 'makable' field goal. Throwing across the grain was a big mistake and it cost the Vikes the game.
Your premise that it is impossible to be a fan of a person not on your team is as ridiculous as your others.
