“We have enough water stored in our swimming pool to not only be used by us but our friends, family and neighbors. It would take very little to make it potable.”

Unless you have some way to remove the copper from the algeacides it will take more than you think to make pool water potable.

Don’t use algecides that contain copper. Or at least when I check for minerals copper doesn’t even register.
