I ordered it last week, and it’s been shipped. The guy at Tactical Intelligence is quite reliable in his opinions. If you order the stove, type in tactical-intelligence as a coupon code and you save $2.
I just checked and it’s been since Aug or 2009 since he’s been on and his last posts were to hiredhand. He just dropped out.
Yes, he did have the survival thread. This one is why I thought of him.
Correction...

How much was it? I googled it up and it was listed for $125 on the one site I found.
That is a good plan (the cannibal crowd is thinking that you are describing feeders), how about apples?
For people with no yards, even they should buy a 99cent packet of cherry tomato seeds and Jalapeno seeds, and add fresh packets to the collection every three years.
For someone using a couple of 5 gallon buckets to grow them on a patio, there won’t be any calories in those two plants, but there will be a lot of concentrated nutrition and vitamin C, (and flavor) and both of those two plants are prolific producers, even in containers.
Urban people also should know how to sprout their wheat seeds and beans, that is a constant small source of fresh vegetable nutrition that you can do totally on your kitchen counter.
I think that the rules changed but I might be wrong. When they have supplies that are too many for the church they invite other denominations to help with the cannning and then distribute them to local food pantries.

Thanks!
I keep a 3 month supply of all my meds at all times. What really helped me do that on a budget was the $4 list at Wal-Mart. I took it to doc and said, “If at ALL possible, anything you prescribe me should be on this list.” He knows that because I take a lot of daily meds, money is tight. He gives me lots of lovely samples ALONG WITH a script.
I love my doc.
I haven’t purchased shampoo in over a year. Thanks to couponing and the deals at CVS, I have a great stash. Helps out when times are tough, too.
Very true!
Thanks for the ping!
It's not quite that simple, unfortunately. It would be prudent to investigate each individual drug you would want to hold for a long time.
Lots of drugs just lose efficacy over time. For example, a cortisone cream or such, the exp date means it has reached 90% of its original potency. Well, so that's not really a big deal.
But some drugs don't just become less potent with age, the chemicals degrade and become toxic. Aspirin, for one. And of course depending on the drug's purpose, a small decrease in efficacy can be pretty important.
Good thinking.
My heart meds show about a 24 month shelf life based on printed exp dates. I bought that much at once and now buy 3 months at a time. I'd like more, but I have been unable to get a firm commitment from a pharmacist as to how long I can use after exp date. It was a nice piece of change, but now I'm back to regular monthly expense.
Don't make me ping Randall's Zombie list. Just don't.
I agree, research is key. But where, oh where, can you get a REAL answer instead of a canned one?
I was not aware of that. Thank you.
Do all LDS churches have a sealer?
Do they let non-LDS faiths use it (ie: I’m Catholic)
I don’t have any LDS friends so can I just call and ask to use their facilities?
You just answered my question...thanks!
Good post. There is no food store in any city in the country with more than a 5 day food supply. In the event of disaster, stores are emptied in < 24 hours.
Liberals will eat themselves and their children first.
