Here is video of Fox News Watch asking the question, "Are Medical Reporters using the Earthquake for Self-Promotion?"
The panel specifically discussed Medical Reporters from CNN and MSNBC and the coverage of their efforts to help the people of Haiti. The panel essentially agreed as a group that doctors covering a story and getting personally involved does not cross a line and is not only OK, but a good thing. They did say it is important not to try and use the involvement as a tool for ratings, though it is difficult to keep those things apart.. . . (VIDEO)

What’s bad is regular reporters standing around and asking people “How do you feel?”
The reporters and or doctors are annoying sometimes but yet I can’t turn away. I am beginning to wonder if the UN is trying to force the Haitians to move from Port-au-Prince. In my opinion, the UN is holding up the food and water in order to do some social engineering and move most of the population out of the capital.
In the first days after the quake, CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Sanjay Gupta exmained an infant’s injured head and gave her a superficial neurological exam that indicated her limbs moved ok and said he thought she would be ok and then kissed his hand an “applied” the kiss to the child. Very moving to watch. CNN, though, kept playing the clip over and over and then an abbreviated version of it even days later. The repeating the clip smacked badly of making show-biz out of the tragedy.
Gupta has also performed neurosurgery while in Haiti. This is from the Times of India
